Funeral Service for Jacquelyn Ann Crawford, Anpetu Ho Waste Win "Good Day Voice Woman" will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. with Meal starting at 1:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD with Spiritual Leader Arnold Williams and drum group will be the Cook Boys. Pallbearers will be Joey Adams, Juron Adams, Jayvyn Adams, Isaac Rodlund, Kade Ellingson, Vine Adams, Edwin DuMarce, B.J. DuMarce, Clay Crawford, and Darren Crawford. Honorary Pallbearers will be Belva White, Mary Shaw, Sue Thompson, Wendy Harwood, Sanford Hospice Nurses Jessie, Brenda, Tammy, and Krisite. All of Jackie's relatives and friends whose lives she touched. Jackie cared for so many people throughout her life, and her family would like all who knew and loved her to be considered honorary pallbearers. There will be a wake service starting at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at the Sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Community Center. Burial will be at the Sisseton Wahpeton Traditional Burial Grounds. Jacquelyn passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at her home.

Jacquelyn Ann Crawford ~ Anpetu Ho Waste Win — "Good Day Voice Woman"

Jacquelyn Ann Crawford, age 60, of Sisseton, South Dakota, passed away on August 6, 2026, at the home of her daughter, Amanda Adams, while under hospice care following her battle with cancer.

Jacquelyn was born on February 4, 1966, in Sisseton, South Dakota, to Edwin Dale Crawford and Judy Wolter (Desjarlais). When Jackie was seven years old, her father remarried, and she and her sister, Terri, were raised by their dad, Dale, and their mom, Linda Crawford. Jackie's Dakota name was Anpetu Ho Waste Win, meaning "Good Day Voice Woman." She was raised learning and living the Dakota way of life, which remained an important part of who she was throughout her life.

Jackie graduated from Sisseton High School and went on to earn two Associate of Arts degrees from Sisseton Wahpeton College. She spent most of her life in the Sisseton area. Her most recent employment was as a receptionist with the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Court.

Jackie was known for her kind and generous heart. She was always willing to help those around her, no matter what, and her warmth and compassion touched the lives of many. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, thrifting, having coffee, visiting with family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Above all, Jackie cherished her family and found great joy in being a mother, friend, sister, auntie, and Kunsi. Jackie was especially excited for the arrival of her second great-grandchild, a baby boy expected in September 2026. Although she was unable to meet him, he was already very much loved and anticipated by his Kunsi. Her love also extended to the four-legged members of the family. Will, Bruno, and all of Mandie's cats knew just how much their Kunsi loved them. They were spoiled and loved beyond measure, and they will all miss her dearly.

Jacquelyn is survived by her children, Amanda Adams; Joey Adams and his companion, Shayle Cook; Elissa Huber and her husband, Chris Huber; and Jasmine Crawford. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Juron Adams, Jayvyn Adams, Gracie Belle Adams, Isaac Rodlund, Zoey Adams, Khloe Adams, Harlee Ellingson, Kade Ellingson, Jerzey Adams, Jason LaFontaine Jr., Camilla LaFontaine, Junia Adams, Jia Adams, Jordyn Owen-Adams, and Remi Colon; her great-grandchild, Vine Adams; and her second great-grandchild, a baby boy expected in September 2026. Jackie is also survived by her siblings, Terri Crawford, Mindy Crawford, Darren Crawford, Melissa Birnbaum, and Michael Wolter, along with many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends.

Jacquelyn was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Dale Crawford; her mother, Linda Crawford; her biological mother, Judy Wolter (Desjarlais); her brothers, Jake Wolter and Gerald Wolter; her paternal grandparents, Lloyd Crawford and Elissa Crawford; and her beloved cousins, Vanessa Driver and Vernie Driver, who were raised as her brother and sister.

Jackie's legacy is one of kindness, generosity, family, and the Dakota values she carried throughout her life. Her willingness to help others and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
