Graveside funeral services for Ina LaShay Kohl will be Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 2pm at the Ascension Presbyterian Church cemetery. Officiant will be Gerald "Jr. H." Heminger, Jr., Commissioned Ruling Elder. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic no wakes will be held. There will be a viewing at the Cahill Funeral Chapel starting at 12:30 pm on Saturday, May 2, 2020. At 1:30 pm the funeral procession will then proceed to the Ascension Presbyterian Church cemetery. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be her adopted brothers Billy, Robert, Josh and Dave Kohl and her nephews Brandon and Micah Kohl. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Olson and the rest of her family at Lifescape in Sioux Falls, SD; her nieces Misty, Mersadez, Cydney and Chantel Kohl, who all helped their grandma Yvette care for Ina, the rest of her nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties and uncles and the many, many family and friends of Ina.

Ina LaShay Kohl was born April 28, 2004 in Watertown, SD. When she was a couple of months old, she was a victim of Shaken Baby Syndrome. It was then that she touched the heart of her adopted mother Yvette Kohl. Yvette then legally adopted Ina and took her as one of her own. Ina was welcomed into the family and grew up with her niece Mersadez Kohl at Yvette's. Yvette was so fond of her little angels as she would say they were both God's precious miracles and she was well gifted to have the opportunity to take care of these girls. They were both proof of what an awesome God we serve.

Later in years as Ina grew, Yvette had made a tough decision to have Ina live at and attend the Sioux Falls Children Home and School, now known as Lifescape. Ina had grown so, that Yvette could not physically take care of Ina as she wanted, due to Yvette's illness. This broke Yvette's heart to leave her there, but she was reassured that Ina would be well taken care of and she would be able to get an education.

As time went by, Yvette was called home to her heavenly home and Ina continued to live at and be educated by Lifescape. Over these years Ina was well taken care of by Josh Olson, Ina's case worker and all the rest of her Lifescape family. The family of Ina surely appreciates all the love she was given by her family at Lifescape. They are surely God's workers, working with children with learning disabilities.

Ina passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020 due to a cardiac arrest episode in Sioux Falls, SD one day after her sweet 16 ^th birthday. She will be surely be missed by all who knew her. She had such a big family here at home and also a big family at Lifescape.

Ina is survived by her adopted brothers and sisters-in-law: Billy, Robert & Bernie, Josh & Missy and Dave & Des Kohl all of Big Coulee, SD. Her special niece Mersadez Kohl of Sioux Falls, SD. Her birth mother Kayla LaBelle of Huron, SD. Her biological siblings Triston LaBelle, Melissa First In Trouble, William LaBelle and Miley Contreas. She is also survived by many numerous family members and friends.

Ina was preceded in death by her mom, Yvette Kohl; grandma Doris Burshiem; cousin Mark Keoke, Jr. and many, many other relatives.
