Services for Harry Amos Renville, 71, of Sisseton, South Dakota will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. Old Agency District Center, Agency Village, SD with Pastor Milton "Nippy" Owen, Pastor Morgan Redday, and Pastor Phil Lawrence officiating. Drum Group will be Old Agency Singers. Pallbearers will be John Lincoln, Kris Kohl, Derek Kirk, George MacConnell, Willy Varns and Russell Eberhardt. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary and Inez Owen, Teddy Frenier, Joe Owen, Kenny Abraham, Quincy Brant, Larry Keoke Sr., Bobby Keoke Sr., Willis Keoke, Maurice Spider, Kirk and Marne Snaza, Sherrie and Jason Skjonsberg, Dean and Donna North, Hoky Marks, Michelle Little, and Tekakwitha Residents and Staff. An All night Wake Service will be on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the Old Agency District Center, Agency Village, SD starting at 7:00 PM. Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Harry Amos Renville was born on April 5, 1952 in Sisseton, SD to Cecil C. Renville and Madeline (Blackstone) Renville. He was raised in the Sisseton area and attended the State School for the blind in Gary, SD from 1958-1960. Then, he attended the Aberdeen School for the blind and graduated in 1970. After that, Harry took several classes at the Sisseton Wahpeton Community College in Agency Village, SD. For a short time, he worked as a dispatcher at the old IHS and then for the Tribal Police Department. Harry then devoted his life to Christ. He took up poetry and wrote many poems. The Sisseton Courier would print off the poems he wrote in Brail and was able to print a book of his poems. Harry's work is available today through the Courier. Harry loved his nieces. Even though he did not have much, he always had enough for his grandkids. He was always positive and never had anything negative to say. His favorite past-time was going out to the Connection and playing Sun and Moon. He will be dearly missed. Harry passed away on April 16, 2023 at the Tekakwitha Living Center in Sisseton, SD.

Harry is survived by his siblings, Glen Renville of Sisseton, SD, Agatha T. Hisgun of Watertown, SD, Harvey M. Renville of Sioux Falls, SD, Celia Connie Abraham of Sisseton, SD, Sophia S. Renville of Rapid City, SD, Gary and Inez Owen of Sisseton, SD; Uncle Vine Marks Sr. of Sisseton, SD; Special nieces Alyssa Janelle Redday, Rochelle Renville, Melissa Renville, Cecelia "His Little Cupcake" Abraham, Mckenzie Abraham, Alberta Abraham, Kellie Swift Eagle, Gabrielle Wanna, Scarlett Wanna, Mel MacConnell, Laura Hemminger, Carol Owen, Kyleen Neilan and Carol Enno; special nephews Corey Renville, Eugene King Jr., Jay Barse, Kenny Abraham Jr., Jayden "JoJo" Barse; special granddaughter C.J. Abraham and special friends Deanne "Babydoll" King and Nikki Kirk.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Patricia Conley and Maggie Wiesen and Carol Ann Renville; brothers Corbett Renville and Eugene Renville; nieces Maddie Renville and Jordyn Barse.
