Funeral Mass for Gregory Micheal Determan, 54, of Sisseton, will be held on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Fr. Andy Knop, O.M.I. Celebrant. Song Leader will be Sandi Jaspers and organist will be Colette Hull. Pallbearers will be Robert Hull, Robert Fisher, Billy Vellenga, Cal Schlisner, Mitch Kruger, and Jeff Determan. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Greg's Friends & Family. Interment will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. There will be visitation on Sunday. November 22, 2009 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 P.M., with family present from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD There will be visitation one hour prior to the Funeral Mass at the church on Monday. Greg was born on May 16, 1955 in Sisseton, SD to Robert and Barbara (Hess) Determan. Greg attended school in Sisseton and graduated from Sisseton High School in 1973. Following High School Greg worked for his dad at Determan Repair in Sisseton. He traveled many places working as a crane operator putting up wind towers, he belonged to the Crane Operating Engineers of Minnesota, Local 49. Greg enjoyed traveling the country golfing and fixing cars; and he enjoyed hunting, bowling, and collecting M&M dispensers. Greg was united in marriage to Patty George. Greg was a loving and caring person. He will be missed. Greg was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD. Greg passed away on November 18, 2009 at the Coteau Des Prairies Hospital, Sisseton, SD.
Gregory is survived by his mother, Barbara Murray of Sisseton, SD, four brothers, Dennis and wife Nancy Determan of Savoonga, AK, Bruce Determan of Ferney, SD, Tim and wife, Nancy Determan of Aberdeen, SD, Brent and wife, Holly Determan of Milbank, SD; one sister, Cindy and husband David Summit of Safford, AZ; several nieces and nephews; three children, Nikki and husband, Mitch Krueger of Mayville, ND, Krissy Nyvold of Fargo, ND, and Matt Nyvold of Mankato, MN; five grandchildren, Ashton, Junior, Codi, Colten and Caitlyn.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, Robert, maternal grandparents, Jake and Gert Hess and paternal grandparents, Herman and Margaret Determan; one sister, Mary and one brother Jeff.
