Funeral Service for Giselle Grace German, 16 months old, from Browns Valley, MN will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, with Pastor Milton Owen, Pastor Paul Osborne, CLP Jr. Heminger, and Lay Reader J.C. Crawford officiating. Pianist will be Kay Bursheim and special music by Wacin'he Wakan Tiwahe, John German III, and Cook Boys Drum Group. Pallbearers will be Justin German, John German Jr., Thomas German, Ryan German, Michael Robertson, Christian Robertson, Kenny German and John German III. Honorary Pallbearers will be All of Giselle's cousins, her therapists, Doctors, Nurses & Sanford Castle & NICU Staff. . Interment will be in the Ascension Presbyterian Cemetery , Big Coulee, SD. There will be Wake Services at the Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday an all-night wake. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.
Giselle Grace German, Cante waste win ob nagi wasake sunka wakan "Beautiful heart girl with strong horse spirit" was sixteen months. She was born October 26, 2011 at Sanford NICU in Sioux Falls, SD to Elsie White and James German. Giselle was born with a rare bone disease-called Osteogenisis Imperfecta. Although she was immobile, she still loved to dance, Play peek-a-boo, and look at herself in her mirror, blow raspberries, and mimic others. Giselle loved to play with her brother Kenny and all of her cousins. She also loved when people sat with her and visited. Giselle was loved by her parents and brother very much. They took care of her to the best of their abilities. She will be missed and always remembered.
Giselle passed away on March 4, 2013 at the Sanford Children's Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD.
Giselle is survived by her parents, James German and Elsie White; one brother, Kenny German of Browns Valley, MN; paternal grandparents, John and Jamie German of Peever, SD; and paternal great grandparents, Smoky and Lorraine German of Peever, SD; maternal grandmother Candida Heminger, maternal great grandmother, Karen Heminger, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents.
Giselle was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, Terry Heminger; paternal great grandfather, Big Jim Crawford, great grandmother, Phyllis Max Crawford; great grandfather, Sam Max Jr.
