Funeral Service for Gerald Michael King, 75, of Blaine, MN will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lake Traverse District Center, Browns Valley with Jamie White Thunder and Episcopal Lay Readers officiating. Drum Group will be Long Elk. Pallbearers will be Scott King, Caleb Eastman, Michael White, Cary King, Winston Eastman, and Dean Iyarpeya.   Honorary Pallbearers will be Leo Hull, Tony Barker, Myron Williams and David Moshier. Interment will be at St. John's Episcopal Cemetery, Browns Valley, South Dakota with Military Rites by American Legion Post #314. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Gerald was born on September 6, 1944 at Sisseton, SD. The son of William King and Hilda Ortley. He attended Sisseton High School graduating in 1963. While in high school he was on the Sisseton Basketball Team that went to state in 1963. He was also chosen Chieftain. After high school he attended electronic school in Chicago, Ill. He then entered the Army on August 27, 1965 and was discharged on August 10, 1967. He returned to Chicago and was a supervisor for Bell Tone Hearing Company for 20 years. He met and married Sylvia Battise on November 17, 1967. They had three children Lana, Kevin and Gerald (Scott). From Chicago they moved to Minneapolis, MN where he worked for GE Security in Blaine, MN. Gerald loved wood working, he made furniture, did beading and hand drums. Gerald passed away on January 4, 2020 at Mercy Hospital, Coon Rapids, MN.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Sylvia of Blaine, MN; three children Lana White-King of Maple Grove, MN; Kevin King of Livingston, TX, and Gerald (Scott) King of Blaine, MN.; Six sisters Patline Norris of Cloquet, MN; Sharon Ellingson of Wadena, MN; Peggy King of Rosholt, SD, Wilma King of Sisseton, SD, Brenda King of Rosholt, SD, Faith DeMarrias of Watertown, SD; and three brothers Cedric King of Rosholt, SD, Ted King of Sisseton, SD and Earl DeMarrias of Peever, SD.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Willard King, Pauly Bird and Ray Bird; three sisters Martha King, Priscilla King and Ernestine Huff.
