Obituary

Interment will be held on Friday May 15, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Eden, SD.

Funeral Mass for Georgia Theresa Streier will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 10:30 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eden, SD with Father Ken Lulf officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. There will also be a visitation on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Cahill Funeral Chapel in Sisseton, SD from 5-7:00 P.M. with a prayer service and time of sharing starting at 7:00 P.M. Special music will be provided by Amy Nelson. Scriptures will be read by David Pearson. Pallbearers will be Gary Stromseth, Mike Keller, Jim Pearson, David Pearson, Bruce Nelson, and Jeff Lehman. Honorary Pallbearers will be All of Georgia's family and friends. Interment will be at the St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery, Eden, SD, at a later date. Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Georgia Theresa Streier was born on March 07, 1944, in Marshall County, SD to George Sr. and Gladys (Ellenbecker) Etl. She was a member of the St. Peter's Church and loved playing music with her guitar and singing with friends. Georgia also loved to garden and get her hands dirty planting flowers. Another thing she loved was the stray cats – she rescued many and continued to care for those she could not bring inside. For over 20 years, Georgia worked at Teals Market in Sisseton in the bakery section. She was well known in town for her cake decorating skills. Georgia passed away on January 30, 2026, at Coteau des Prairies Hospital in Sisseton, SD.

Georgia is survived by her children Duane Streier of Big Lake, MN and Becky Streier of Sisseton, SD; sister Gayle (Jim) Pearson of Clark, SD; grandchild Krystal (Joe) Streier-Bork of Big Lake, MN; and great-grandchild Ella Bork.

Georgia is preceded in death by her husband Joe Streier; parents George Sr. and Gladys Etl; infant son Daniel; brothers George Etl Jr. and Gene Etl; sister Geraldine Lehman; and nephew Bryce Nelson.
