Memorial Service for Gary Wayne Cooper, 59 of Sisseton, SD will be Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Grace Lutheran Church, Sisseton, SD with Rev. Patrick Jenkins officiating. Organist will be Ollie Yost and Soloist will be Heather McCleerey. Urn Bears will be Gary Spencer, Richard Oien, Brent Wolfe, Derek Veflin, Wayne Zeretzke, Bruce Zeretzke Jr. Kelly Wolfe and Ken Zeretzke. Honorary Urn Bearers will be all of Gary's co-workers at Super Value and Teals. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with family present at the Cahill Funeral Chapel. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.
Gary Wayne Cooper was born on January 15, 1959 in Sisseton, SD to Wayne (Bud) and Vivian (Oien) Cooper. The family moved to Blaine, MN where he attended school until the 7 th grade. They then moved back to Sisseton, were Gary graduated from Sisseton High School in 1977. Following high school he attended Lake Area Tech majoring in building trades. Gary worked at the Holiday Station, A&C Variety, Super Value and Teals Market where he retired in 2016. Gary met the love of his life Andrea Wolfe when he was a junior in high school. They were married on September 27, 1980 at First Lutheran Church, Claire City, SD. Gary was a long time member of the Grace Lutheran Church where he served on the church council and as usher. His hobbies included, hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, camping, playing cards, spending time with family and friends, and of course cheering for his favorite football team, the Minnesota Viking! Gary passed away on April 11, 2018 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Gary is survived by his wife, Andrea of Sisseton, SD; two sisters, Vicky (Bruce) Zeretzke of Deering, ND and Jodi (Alan) Veflin of Sisseton, SD; two brothers-in law, Verne (Doris) Wolfe of Claire City, SD and Harold Joe (Connie) Wolfe of Grand Forks, ND; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Vivian Cooper and his in-laws Harold and Vivian Wolfe.
