The Funeral Service for Francis "Joe" White Jr., 87, of Sisseton, South Dakota will be held on May 30, 2023, at 3:00 P.M at the St. Kateri's Hall, Sisseton, South Dakota with CRE Gerald Heminger, Jr. and Mike Owen Officiating. Pallbearers will be Todd Lyons, Irvin Hills Sr., Jeremy Lowe, Mario Bagola, Moses Free, Elroy Walter White, and Jordan Sand. Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas Marks, Iver Cloud, Roger Brant, Terry "Spider" Hillberg, Irvin DuMarce, Byron White Jr., Lionel DuMarce, Wes Dillon, Monty Guffin, Josh DuMarce, and Donovan White.  There will be a Wake Service on Monday, May 29, 2023, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton South Dakota. Interment will be the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, South Dakota. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Francis "Joe" White Jr. was born on May 13, 1936, to Francis White Sr. and Mary Sing White in Rosholt, South Dakota at home.  He went to school at Rosholt Day School and then he attended school at Sisseton, Pierre, and Wahpeton Indian School.  He then went into the Army for 3 years. After he got out then he lived in New York and Chicago for 17 years; then he moved back home to Sisseton.  Joe had many jobs. His last job was in Sisseton at the National Guard Armory for 15 years where he retired then became involved in his church Dakotah Gospel Church. This is where he first started playing guitar and singing in church.  He sang at many wakes and funerals here in Sisseton.  He was also involved with many benefits for people who needed help.  He also sang in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Indiana.  He enjoyed it all singing for the Lord.  Joe married Kathleen Feather White at Dakotah Gospel Church. Joe passed away May 24, 2023, at Prairie Lakes Hospital, Watertown, South Dakota.

Joe is survived by his wife of 48 years Kathy White of Sisseton, SD; children, Erna Schmitt of Germany, Roxanne Wright of Rosholt, Anna Free of St. Paul, Carol Lyons of Watertown, Cheryl Ojeda of Sisseton, James Eagle of San Francisco, Faustine Hisgun of Sioux Falls, Ramsey Bagola of Oklahoma, Mario Bagola of Montana, Paula Dillon of Sisseton, and Laura Small of Yankton; brother, Emery White Sr. of Sisseton; sister, Barbara LaCroix of Sisseton; 48 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by children, Christopher Eagle, Eldon Hayes Sr, Heidi White, Francis White III "Little Joe"; granddaughters, Candace LaBelle and Bonita Bagola; grandson, Julian Oliger; his father, Francis White Sr.; mother, Mary Sing White; brothers Elroy White Sr, Byron White Sr., Laverne White Sr., Vernon White Sr., and Gordon Drake; twin sisters, Doreen and Doris Ryan; sisters, Lila White Martin and Frida White. Paternal grandparents, Charles White and Ella King White; maternal grandparents, David Sing and Sarah Brant.
