Graveside Service will be held on June 26, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Lake City  Cemetery, Lake City, SD

Frances Lorretta Johnson, 90, of Eden, SD, passed away on February 18, 2021, at the Bethesda Home in Webster, SD.  Visitation will be held at the Cahill Funeral Chapel in Sisseton, SD on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, from 3:00 P.M. till 5:00 P.M.  Funeral services panned for early summer.

Frances Lorretta Baumann was born on August 27, 1930 in Sisseton, SD to Francis and Laura (Donnell) Baumann. She attended school at the Tekakwitha Orphanage and Savanna. Frances met the love of her life, Verlane Johnson, as she said he was her Prince Charming. They spent many blessed years together. They enjoyed spending time together and dancing the night away. Frances and Verlane enjoyed traveling together and loved to take the grandkids on trips with them. Frances was a homemaker most of her life, but also worked as a nurse and worked in retail. She had a great zest for life and loved to joke around. She was also a wonderful cook and loved when family and friends came around. Frances would always have something delicious made. The family always had a special request for her goulash or roast with potatoes. They always wanted to top off the meal with her famous apple crisp. Frances enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting, puzzles, planting flowers and she loved her cats and dogs.

Frances is survived by children, Tom Conrad of Washington state, Richard Janson of California, William Janson of Sisseton, SD, Carol Jacobson of Eden, SD, Craig Williamson of Washington State, and Marty Janson of Washington;; Thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren; one sister, Peggy (Dave) Johnson.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Laura and Francis Bauman, husband Verlane Johnson; one son, Donald Janson and one daughter, Karen Arndt; brothers and sisters, Joseph (Marion) Baumann, Dorothy (Dee) Scrimsher, Mary (Melvin) Sippel, Theresa Ann (Will) Selzler, George (Linda) Baumann and Victor (Johnny) Baumann.
