Funeral Service for Evangeline Seaboy Brant "Maźa sna win", 95, of Peever, South Dakota will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Agency Village, SD with final viewing at 1:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD with Fr. Charles Chan, Episcopal Lay Readers and Danny Seaboy officiating. Pianist will be Billy Kohl. Pallbearers will be Londel Seaboy, Cody Seaboy, Jason Morsette, Jake Bellonger, Brandon Adams, Keith DeCoteau, Bryant DeCoteau, Dillon DeCoteau, William DeMarrias Sr., William DeMarrias Jr., Darell Decoteau, Thomas DeMarrias, Brian DeCoteau, Cory DeMarrias, Vance DeMarrias, J.T. Seaboy, Cody Nevitt, Lance DeMarrias, Wambdi sapa Seaboy, Ian Seaboy, Joe Morsette, Didymus Morsette, Freddie Morsette, Tyson Seaboy, Atraio Sartwell, Brett Price, Luke Renville, Danny Boy Seaboy, Paul Renville and Alfred Charles Seaboy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rose Max, Kathy Adams, Pat Oceguera, Rita Finley, Amanda Country, Rhonda Wilson, Clarine White, Pat Taylor, Dorthea Wilson, Calvin and Liz Finnesand, Truman Nelson, Ione Eagle, Geraldine Rencountre, Marva Tollesson, Phillip "Skippy "Longie, and Paulette Cloud. Interment will be at the St. Mary's Episcopal Cemetery, Agency Village, SD. Wake services will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018 and all night wake Monday, July 23, 2018 both starting at 7:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Community Center. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.
Evangeline was born on September 23, 1922 and grew up on the south east side of One Road Lake and was the daughter of Lydia and William Seaboy. William was a Lay Reader for the church. She married Thomas Brant, who joined the service. During the war she worked in an ammunition plant in Hastings, Nebraska and later at Lansbergers in Sisseton, South Dakota. She raised not only her own children, Cleone and Shirley but many, many other children and grand children. She came from a pow-wow family and loved pow-wows. She loved to dance zuya waktehdi. She also loved to do jigsaw puzzles. Evangeline passed away on July 19, 2018 at the Tekawitha Nursing Center, Sisseton, South Dakota surrounded by her family.
Evangeline is survived by her children; Shirley and Earl DeMarrias, Bonnie Bellonger, Rev. Jerome Renville and David Seaboy; Geneva Morsette, Danny and Pat Seaboy, David L. Seaboy, and Sam Seaboy; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Evangeline was preceded in death by her parents Lydia and William Seaboy; her husband Thomas Brant; hoksidan wan; daughters, Cleone and Delight; great granddaughter Angela; brothers, Walter, Edward, and Didymus Seaboy; sisters, Josephine and Sadie Seaboy and nephew Joe Seaboy; niece Exzilada Seaboy.
