Obituary

Funeral Service for Eunice M. Sandman, 95 lifelong resident of Sisseton, SD will be held on Friday, December 26, 2008 at 10:30 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, Sisseton, SD with Rev. William Schruba officiating. Organist will be Marcia Peterson and Soloist will be Pat Schubert. Pallbearers will be Darrell Pownell, Cory Grimsrud, Charles Overby, Lynn Nigg, Roger Laubach, and Greg Harles. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of Tekakwitha Living Center and Coteau Des Prairies Hospital. Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. There will be visitation on Thursday, December 25, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Eunice M. Spencer was born on August 3, 1913 in Sisseton, SD to Will and Martha (Schloe) Spencer. She was the second of four daughters. She attended Sisseton Public School. Eunice was united in marriage to Ralph C. Sandman on April 4, 1935. To this union two children were born, Ralph M and Sally. Eunice was employed at Landsberger Creamery and Produce for many years. Her husband, Ralph passed away in 1985. Eunice enjoyed family get togethers, sewing and watching sports, whether it was cheering for the Sisseton Redmen teams or sports on television. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and a long time member of the Hills and Valley Riding Club. Eunice passed away December 21, 2008 at Tekakwitha Living Center, Sisseton, SD.
Eunice is survived by one son, Ralph M. (Vonnie) Sandman of Browns Valley, MN; one son-in-law, David Wallenstein of Sisseton, SD; one grandson, Leigh Wallenstein of Yankton, SD and one granddaughter, Janee Wallestein of Fargo, ND and nieces and nephews.
Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Sally Wallenstein, her three sisters, Mabel Hughes, Evelyn Spencer and Phyllis Hanson.
