Funeral Service for Eric Walker, 38, of Sisseton, South Dakota will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Family Life Assembly of God Church, Sisseton, SD with Pastor Vern Donnell officiating.  Special Music will be by June Evenson and Krystal Williams. Pallbearers will be Glen LaCroix, Danny Smith, Austin Ducheneaux, Elijah Janis, Benji Thompson, Jarrod Wegleitner, Ronald "Gummer " Decoteau.   Honorary Pallbearers will be Butch LaCroix, Delia LaCroix, Jerry Thom, Rita Arnold, Troy Goodsell, Philip Barse, Victor "Chaske" Simon Jr., and Kenny DuMarce.  There will be visitation on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 5:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at the Family Life Assembly of God Church.  The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, South Dakota is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Eric Walker was born on June 1, 1980 to Dagoberto Gomez and Crystal Walker-Gomez in Denver, CO.  He lived his earlier years in Fort Collins, CO.  He came to Sisseton, South Dakota in 1995 where he remained until his death.  He would travel back and forth to Colorado.  Eric enjoyed meeting people, he would shake your hand, introduce himself and usually by the end of a conversation they would be exchanging phone numbers.  He loved the mountains in Colorado and the fishing here in South Dakota, spear-fishing mainly.  At the age of 18, he met Donette Thompson and became a father to baby Benji.  He got to know as many of his relatives as he could and became very close to all.  He was a Bronco fan and also enjoyed and honored the native traditions.

Eric had one special friend, no matter how long his absence, she never forgot him.  She would wait patiently, she was loyal, his beloved "Peta."

Eric thought the world of his grandparents.  He wanted to continue to work in the Sisseton area so he could be close to home and always be around for them.  He was a skilled worker, whatever the job, it didn't take long for him to catch on and do it well.  He was most proud of the job he had as a Security Guard at the Magic.

To our shock at the age of 38 years, he passed away within a 24 hour period in Fargo, ND at Essentia Health on Thursday, April 4, 2019.

Eric is survived by his grand-parents Frank and Delia Welch; mother Crystal Walker; sisters Sierra Gomez of Sisseton and Alisa Hartman of Red Cloud, NE; niece Arica Hartman of Red Cloud, NE; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Eric was preceded in death by his father Dagoberto Gomez; uncles, Baron Walker, and Ken Walker.
