Funeral Mass for Emery Leslie White Jr. Toko Apé Wicasta, "Strikes First", 66, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with Rev. Fr. Gregg Frankman Celebrant. Drum Group will be Old Agency Singers. Pallbearers will be Sabre Selvage, Saden Selvage, Damien White, Tyson Brant, Dustin Brant, Justin White, Julian Johnson, Gabe DuMarce, Leslie King, Sam Crawford Jr., Dallas Goodteacher, and Jay Renville.   Honorary Pallbearers will be Edmund Johnson Sr., Jake Bellonger, Melissa White, Francine White, Austin Barse, Barb LaCroix, Mona & Arnold Williams, Tracey and Leslie Heminger, Alvina Hayes, Dakota Magic Security Dept., A special thank you to Tanner Wilson and Asa White for always being there for him through all seasons.   Interment will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Sisseton, SD with Military Rites by Kit Fox Society. There will be all night wake on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 starting at 7:00 P.M. at St. Kateri Hall, Sisseton, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Emery was born June 7, 1956 to Emery White Sr. and Maryann (Wanna) in Waukegan, Illinois. He attended school in Sisseton, SD until he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years. He received the Good Conduct Medal, and Rifle Sharp Shooter. He returned home to Sisseton and worked with the Tribal Police Dept. before working security for all three casinos for a total of 20 years. He proclaimed to be the candy crush king over his wife. He loved long summer drives, picnics with family, enjoyed western and horror movies. Also loved having Harry Potter marathons with his daughter. Emery was a very humble and kind man who loved life. He put everyone before himself which made him very happy. He was a father and grandfather to all without question. He will surely be missed by all. Emery passed away on June 15, 2022 at his home in Sisseton, SD.

Emery is survived by his wife Sharon of Sisseton, SD; his father Emery Leslie White Sr. of Sisseton, SD; Children   Lawrence "Sky" White of Sioux Falls, SD, Elizabeth White of Sisseton, SD Sasha Johnson of Sisseton, SD, Sabre Selvage of Sisseton, ; Step-children DeVonna Cloud (Sylvester) Goodteacher of Sisseton, SD, Joshua Johnson of Sisseton, SD, Waylon (Tara) Brown of Agency Village, SD, Claude Brown III of Sisseton, SD, and Dora Brown of Agency, SD; Sisters Tammy (Ron) DuMarce of Sisseton, SD and Della Adams of Washington; Brothers Amos (Santo Fe) White, John Adams, Sam Adams and Jason Adams all of Sisseton, SD; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Emery was preceded in death by his mother Maryann (Wanna) White; Aunt Beatrice Wanna, Sister Sonia Morales; brother Lawrence White; Grandmother Nora Greeley and grandfather James Wanna.
