Funeral Service for Emerick Ephriam Johnson Wicahpi To Hoksina "Blue Star Boy", infant son of Emily Johnson, Watertown, SD will be held on Friday. December 13, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village SD with CRE Gerald Heminger and Philmore Simon officiating. The drum group will be Community Singers. Urn Bearer will be Julian Johnson and Honorary Urn bearers will be Bren Robertson, Jordy LaBlanc, Violet LaBlanc, MaKayla Hayes, Anabelle Chapman, Sasha Johnson, Dallas Goodteacher, Andre Heminger, Leslie Johnson, Bree Goodteacher, Sunshine Heminger, Kaleb Heminger, Lenora Johnson, Sharon White, Devonna Goodteacher, Michael "Tigg" Tiggelaar, and Jim Alameda. Inurnment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, South Dakota at a later date. There will be an all-night Wake Service on Thursday. December 12, 2024, at 7:00 P.M. at the SWOTCC. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Emerick Ephriam Johnson was born on December 7, 2024, at Sanford Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD and passed away on December 8, 2024.

Emerick is survived by his mother, Emily Johnson of Watertown, SD and Grandmother Debbie Hathaway of Watertown, SD; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Emerick was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Harold Johnson; maternal great grandparents Arlene and William Busk, Jr, maternal grandfather Emery White, Jr.; maternal great grandfather, Ephriam Johnson and maternal great grandmother Jeanette Barker.
