Funeral Service for Elliot "Oot" Travis Iyarpeya will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. James Episcopal Church, Enemy Swim, South Dakota the Rev. Charles Chan and Rev. Conrad Ciesel officiating. Pallbearers will be Desi Campbell, Casey O'Riley, Vern Rouillard Jr., Jesse Hansen, Hank Hansen, Derrik Gerde, Jason Rencountre, James Greene, Dean Iyarpeya and Justin Kongi. Honorary Pallbearers will be first and for most Sally "Babe" Nielan, Hank Iyarpeya, Randy Iyarpeya, Bob Iyarpeya, Moses Keeble, Scooby Hopkins, Don Bury and all of Elliot's softball friends and family. Interment will be in the St. James Episcopal Cemetery, Enemy Swim, SD. There will be an all night wake on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Enemy Swim Community Center, Enemy Swim. Elliot Travis Iyarpeya was born on August 11, 1980 to Noreen J. Iyarpeya at Fargo, ND. He attended school in Waubay. Following his education he worked at putting up grain bins. He lived in the Waubay area all of his life caring for his mother. Oot loved to make family & friends laugh with this happy go lucky attitude. He enjoyed playing softball, pool, bowling, basketball and many other sports that he had a natural skill at. He enjoyed life and having fun. He touched many lives young and old. He was very kind hearted. He was always the first to put in a helping hand in anything he could do. He always had a quick humorous reply or comment just so he could make sure everyone was smiling and laughing at the end of conversation. His personality was always bigger than life and he was always so easy to love. He was quick to give love, hugs and kisses when his family and friends needed them. Elliot passed away on July 10, 2010 from the result of a Railroad accident at Waubay, SD.
Elliot is survived by his mother, Noreen Iyarpeya of Waubay, SD; five children, Gregory Hiram Campbell, Alyssa Rose Barse (his love), Justice Julian Barse (his Cante), Dontevey Floyd Rouillard (son), and Korrina Lamariah Fayant (sweetheart) all of Waubay, SD; four brothers, Hank Hansen of New Richmond, WI, Jesse Hansen of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Charles Vermillion of Waubay, SD and Corwin Bluedog of Sisseton, SD; one sister Vicki Vermillion of Watertown, SD; and his girl friend Marlys Danley and children of Waubay, SD.
Elliot was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
