A Memorial Service for Elizabeth "Betty" Block, 74 of Sisseton, SD will be held on April 13, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD with Vicar Pat Schubert officiating. Urn Bearers will be Justin Block and Kristin Block. Honorary Urn Bearers will be all of Betty's Grandchildren. Inurnment will be at a later date at Skudesnes Lutheran Cemetery, Pierpont, SD.  There will be visitation from noon to service time at the Cahill Funeral Chapel. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Betty was born Elizabeth Louise Treffry, August 4, 1947 in Hastings, Nebraska, to parents Fern (Nygaard) and Gordon Treffry. She attended grade school in Pierpont, SD and high school in Webster, SD. She graduated from Northern State University with her teaching degree. She was married to Victor Block, Jr. in 1977. She spent most of her life in Sisseton, SD. Her love of young people and music showed through her teaching 2nd grade and piano lessons there for many years. Betty enjoyed attending Bible studies as well. Elizabeth "Betty" Louise Block, beloved teacher, died Monday, April 4, 2022, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.

She is survived by her two children, Justin (Victoria) Block of West Fargo, ND and Kristin Block of Las Vegas, NV and four grandchildren, along with her three siblings, Judy Anderson of Aberdeen, SD, David, and Gerry Treffry of Washington.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and by Vic Block.
