Funeral Mass for Edward "Keith" Curran, 78, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with celebrant Rev. Fr. Jerry Ranek. Organist will be Colette Hull with song leader Sandi Jaspers . Pallbearers will be Curtis Curran, Daniel Curran, Michael Podliska, Joshua Podliska, Aaron Rolstad and Austin Rolstad. Honorary Pallbearers will be "All of Keith's Family and Friends." There will be visitation on Monday, November 23, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with family present from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. A prayer service will be at 7:00 P.M. at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD. Interment will be in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Sisseton, SD with Military Rites by the Otto-Quande-Renville American Legion Post #50 and Fort Sisseton VFW Post #3342. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.
Keith was born on June 29, 1937 in Sisseton,SD to Patrick and Mabel (Smith) Curran. He grew up and attended school at Minnesota Township. He graduated high school in 1955 from St. Francis Academy in Hankinson, ND. After graduation, he went to Seattle and worked for Boeing. He returned home and enlisted in the Army from 1962 to 1964, where he was stationed in Panama. He then returned home to farm in rural Claire City. On July 15, 1972 Keith was united in marriage to Sandra Podliska at St. Johns Nepomucene in Lidgerwood, ND. They moved to their farmstead in rural Claire City where he farmed and milked cows. After he retired from farming, they moved to Sisseton and continued working as a hired man for Rolstad's.
Keith enjoyed his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed reading, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. Keith is a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD and the Otto Quande-Renville Post # 50. He passed away peacefully at Tekakwitha Care Center on November 19, 2015.
Keith is survived by his wife Sandra of Sisseton, SD; son Randy (Kari) Curran of West Fargo, ND; daughters Janell (Jim) Schneider of Sioux Falls, SD and Carol Curran (Matt Surrell) of Sioux Falls, SD; sisters Patricia Cimburek of Columbus, NE, Agnes (Dennis) Bosze of Crossville, TN; brothers James (Judy) Curran of Mobridge, SD, Richard (Nancy) Curran of Veblen, SD, William Curran of Rapid City, SD; sister in-law Ruth (Dale) Haaland of Veblen, SD; seven grandchildren Evan, Kaden and Jenna Curran of West Fargo, ND, Jasmine and Justin Schneider of Sioux Falls, SD, Emily and Brinley Curran of Sioux Falls, SD.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Robert Curran, Charles and his wife Caryn Curran; sister in-law Wanita Curran; and one brother in-law Charles Cimburek.
