Obituary

Memorial Service for Douglas Howard Crandall, 63, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 6:30 P.M. at Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD with Vicar Pat Schubert officiating. There will be visitation on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Inurnment will be in the Tabor Lutheran Cemetery, Strandburg, SD at a later date. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Doug was born on September 2, 1958 at Sioux Falls, SD. He was adopted when he was 1 month old by his parents Kenneth Crandall and Veretta Snoozy. He was baptized at Tabor Lutheran Church, Strandburg, SD. He attended school and graduated from Grant-Deuel School, Revillo, SD. He graduated in 1976. He received an AAS accounting degree from Dakota State University at Madison, SD. Doug worked 10 years for the Grant County Highway Department doing accounting, also worked Dakota Industries, Wilmot Nursing Home and Woodland Cabinetry. One of Doug's greatest accomplishments was be a single Dad and raising his son, Derek. Doug always enjoyed spending time in his garden, and loved to can and shared the entire garden produced. Even though Doug didn't enjoy the water, he enjoyed fishing, especially with his son. Doug also had a good time coaching baseball and softball. Doug was a proud grandpa and enjoyed his face time calls with his grandchildren and family. Doug passed away at his home in Sisseton on December 23, 2021.

Doug is survived by his son, Derek and his wife Jessica Crandall of Kingsland, TX; three grandsons Brayden, Wesley, Levi and one granddaughter Addison; one sister Darla (Darin) Magedanz of Watertown, SD;   niece Jennifer (Jae) Csongradi ; great nephew Wilder Csongradi-Thomas of Denver, CO. ; great niece Charlette Crandall of Denver, CO.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Veretta; brother Daryl Crandall; nephew William Csongradi and grandson Jackson Crandall.
