Funeral Service for Donovan Gary Keeble, Sisoka Duta, "Red Robin," 69 of Sisseton, South Dakota will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Hall, Sisseton, SD with Fr. Gregg Frankman, and Spiritual Leader Misun Bowker officiating. Drum Group will be the Cook Family Drum Group. Pall bearers will be Darien Benson, Jaiden Benson, Lyden Hofland, Kendryck Sharpfish, Richard Varns Jr., Philip Keeble, Misun Bowker, Randy White and Bruce DeMarrias. Honorary Pall bearers will be Steven St. John, Norman Watts, Jr. Rondell, Thomas LaBlanc, Jeff Keeble, Jonas Keeble Sr., Sharon Renville, Ashley Renville, Niem Keeble, Jake DeMarrias, Stacy Farmer, Darrell White, Cheryl & Darrell Renville, Melvin Renville, Roberta Redwing, Rodney Tuttle, Rock & Rose St. John, Teddy St. John, Oliver "Mugsy" Wanna Jr., Danny Bien, Mary Blackthunder Keeble, Monika Weidinger, Morning Star Owen, Brayden Lotze, Waynette Renville, Evelyn Pilcher Family, and all the friends he turned into family while working at Dakota Magic Casino.  Interment will be in the Keeble Family Cemetery, Grenville, SD. There will be an All-Night Wake on Friday, February 9, 2024, starting at 7:00 P.M.

Donovan Gary Keeble, was born on September 11, 1954, at Sisseton, South Dakota to Constance S. "Connie" Renville and Franklin D. Keeble Sr. During his childhood he lived with his grandma Esther St. John and grandpa Wallace Keeble at the stone house by Pickeral Lake SD. They later moved to Sisseton where he started school, he then entered the Tekakwitha Orphanage with Richard "Ponce" Owen, whom he considered a brother. His little sister Julie followed shortly after. He met Fr. Fitzgerald who became his mentor and moved to Squaw Lake MN and then to Michigan where he spent part of his teen years traveling across the country. He moved back to Sisseton, SD the other half of his teen years. While at Sisseton High School he was good at sports and had placed in track. He met Becky LaBelle, from this relationship they had three sons, Gary, his first child who was born sleeping, Donovan, and Dallas. He married Clarice BearHill and to this union they had three children: Dallas, DaVonna, and Dianna. He met Crystal and had his youngest son, Brandon.

Donovan resided in Wisconsin for 13 years. He obtained his associate degree in culinary arts while there. Upon returning to South Dakota, he met Robin (Walking Bull) Keeble, and they married in January 2006 at Falls Park in Sioux Falls, SD. They were active in the AA community for Native Americans. They moved to Aberdeen for a short time where he did factory work. They moved to Rosholt, South Dakota where he started working at Dakota Magic Casino in the kitchen. As his health declined, he moved to other departments, but still within the food department. They adopted Robins infant grandson, Xavier "Sisoka Duta."  Although he called Robin grandma, he knew Donovan only as "Dad." While Sisoka was a baby, they moved up to the hills by Grey Lake near Sisseton before retiring, where he spent as much time with his kids and grandkids. He and Robin traveled as much as their physical health allowed them to.

Donovan was an apart of the American Indian Movement out of Minneapolis in his younger years, in his later years he set up his camper at Standing Rock during the NO DAPL movement and was a supporter of the Dakota 38+2 Memorial Ride.

Donovan liked going to pawn shops and collecting things. He loved music, pow-wows, cars, traveling and visiting relatives and friends wherever they may be. Being a good relative was one of his core values and he did his best to instill that in his children and grandchildren. Birthdays, funerals, special events he found a way to be there. His cousins were considered either his brothers or sisters and he loved them all. He loved taking off and getting a room somewhere and just relaxing. The last trip he took was to North Carolina to see his oldest sons in the summer of 2023. He was a proud grandpa, known as "Papa" to the younger ones. He had so much patience with them and loved teaching them new things. The 4th of July was spent at his house and the shows got bigger each year as the grandkids got older. He enjoyed sitting outside on cool summer evenings with a fire going, grandkids roasting smores and running wild. Donovan had a talent for writing, his poems always made you think about life, struggles, some made you laugh but he was so good at that. He was known by a lot of people for being a good listener and through his wisdom and knowledge he always had the right words for you. He talked of the special day when he would see his relatives that went on before him and we know that he is having a happy reunion in the Spirit World.

Donovan is survived by seven children DaVonna Bowker of Sisseton, SD, Donovan Crowe of Orlando, FL, Dallas Crowe of Cherokee, North Carolina, , Dallas Keeble of Sisseton, SD, Dianne Running Hawk of Sisseton, SD, Brandon B.J. Harwood of Peever, SD and Sisoka Duta Walking Bull of Denver, CO.; Sisters Julie Watts of Sisseton, SD, Daphne Garland of Rosholt, SD, Cheryl Renville of Sisseton, SD, Lila Renville of Watertown, SD, Gladys Renville of Sisseton, SD and Patricia DeMarce-Nerison of Watertown, SD; brothers Paul Keeble of Sisseton, SD, Boyd Keeble of Sioux Falls, SD, Billy Keeble of Grenville, SD, Harlan DuMarce of Sisseton, SD, Leonard DuMarce of Sisseton, SD, and Bruce DuMarce of Sisseton, SD; 22 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Donovan was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Robin; son Gary; grandson Kaysen Running Hawk; granddaughter Kendra Crowe; godchild Jared Goodsell Jr.; brothers Franklin Keeble Jr., Jerome Renville, Wayne DuMarce, Michael DuMarce, Rodney DuMarce, and Keith DuMarce; sisters Leta Sandra Keeble and Sandra Renville.    HalHHa
