Graveside Service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Goodwill Cemetery,Sisseton, SD. Donald passed away on November 15, 2017.  Donald Jerome Determan died on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at his home in Isle.  He was 82 years old.

Donald was born on August 26, 1935 in Browns Valley, Minnesota to Margaret and Herman Determan.  He was the youngest of seven children. Donald went to Roberts County School and joined the U.S. Navy on April 6, 1955. After getting out of the service he met Laura Landmark.  After a few months Don and Laura eloped to the Little Brown Church in the Valley, Nashua, IA.  On October 31, 1957 their first child, Douglas D., was born.  A year later Don and Laura moved to California for employment.  Three months after the move Jerome J. was born on May 10, 1959.  A year later Katherine K. was born on June 5, 1960.  Don and Laura decided to take their family back to Sisseton, SD to stay on the farm when David J. was born on July 20, 1961.  Don was offered work as a heavy equipment operator with the 49er's in the Twin Cities.  After moving to the cities the family found out Laura had cancer.  She was carrying Candace.  Candace M. was born on November 24, 1962.  Don and Laura wanted to raise their family in the country so they bought a home near Ogilvie.  After 30 years in the 49er's Donald retired after battling with cancer.

Donald enjoyed gardening, woodworking, hunting and fishing with family and friends.  He was a Christian man who loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart.  Donald was a devoted Husband, loving Father, and wonderful Grandfather and a great friend to many people.

He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, brothers Robert, Bernard, Charles, Eugene; sister Dorothy and son-in-law Randy Barnes.

Donald is survived by his Wife Laura Marie; brother Jim (Sylvia) Determan; his children; Robin (Bonnie) Moe, Douglas (Cheryl), Jerome (Jennie), Katherine (Danny), David (Mary), Candace as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Isle with Rev. Mark Maunula officiating.  Music is being provided by Vera Rick and Danny Tramm.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 4 until 6 P.M. at Mille Lacs Lake Funeral Home in Isle, as well as one hour prior to the service at the church.
