Funeral service for Dolores Gleason, 96 of Sisseton, SD will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at First Lutheran Church, Claire City, South Dakota with Rev. Cheryl Rondeau-Bassett officiating. Organist will be Crystal Kemnitz with special music by Alaina Gleason, Betsy Deal, and Alyssa Buckhouse. Pallbearers are Ed Gleason, Chris Gleason, Rick Gleason, Dan Bonham, Colton Buckhouse and Garrett Bonham. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Dolores' Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Interment will be in the Claire City Cemetery, Claire City, South Dakota. There will be visitation on Monday, November 26, 2018 at First Lutheran Church, Claire City from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. There will be visitation one hour prior to the funeral Service.
Dolores Claire Kaple was born in Sisseton, South Dakota on August 27, 1922 to Carl and Dora (Sundahl) Kaple. Dolores married Glen Gleason on October 14, 1940 in Sisseton, South Dakota. The lived on a farm close to Claire City and raised their four children there. She loved to raise flowers, vegetables and always had a beautiful garden. She was very active in the First Lutheran Church in Claire City and later in life with the Grace Lutheran Church in Sisseton. She loved to quilt and filled many hours making quilts for her children and grandchildren. Dolores married Arnie Pederson after the death of her husband Glen. She passed away on November 23, 2018 at the Tekakwitha Nursing Center in Sisseton, SD.
Dolores is survived by one son, Gary (Judy) Gleason of Claire City, South Dakota; one daughter, Cheryll (Bob) Martenson of Black Hawk, South Dakota; two daughters-in-law, Jenny Gleason of Baton Rouge, LA and Wilma Gleason of Wynnewood, OK; one sister, Connie Kaple Slager of Purham, Minnesota; thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Glen Gleason and her second husband Arnie Pederson, her parents, Carl and Dora (Sundahl) Kaple; one sister LaVergne Kaple Mizera, and two sons Wendal and Charles Gleason.
