Funeral Service for Diane Joan White, 71 of Sisseton, South Dakota will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD, with the Rev. Fr. Tony Dummer Celebrant. Pallbearers will be Brandon White, Brennan Owen, Jace Owen, Richard Young, Richard "Ponce" Owen, Donovan Keeble, Ted St. John, and Leonard DuMarce. Honorary Pallbearers will be SWO Tribal Court Co-Workers, Mary Keeble, Joan White, Valerie Field, Theresa Apkaw, Liz Brown, Anna Lisa Schmasow, Sue Owen, Verzella Grey, the White Sisters, Waynette Renville, Brandon, Maria, Brenda, Brennan, Jace, Richard, Shiane, Nicole, Jesse, Mallory, Malleah, and Skylee. Interment will be in the St. Matthew's Catholic Cemetery, Veblen, SD. Wake Services will be held at St. Catherine's Hall at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday and an all-night Wake on Wednesday. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.
Diane Joan Keeble was born on July 13, 1942 in Veblen, SD to Wallace and Esther (St. John) Keeble. She attended school at Veblen, Tekakwitha and Stephan. She attended college at Sisseton Wahpeton Community College and received a degree in Alcohol Counseling. Diane was united in marriage to Orville White. Following college Diane worked for Dakota Pride, Sisseton Housing, and was presently employed at Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Courts. She liked to rummage, collect antiques, watch wrestling, loved to play slot machines and love taking care of her grandchildren. Diane passed away on March 16, 2014 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Diane is survived by two children, Randy White of Sisseton, SD and Kerri White of Sisseton, SD; two brothers, Richard "Ponce" Owen of Veblen, SD, and Donald "Bucky" Pilcher; one sister Connie DeMarrias of Sisseton, SD; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Ronald Keeble and Richard "Beake" White; two sisters, Shirley Saul and Elaine Keeble; and three brothers, David Keeble, Percy Keeble, and Tyrone Keeble.
