Obituary

Funeral Service for Dewey Dakotah Wolfvoice, 39, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Enemy Swim Community Center in Enemy Swim, South Dakota with Valorie Augustson and the Episcopal Lay Readers officiating. The Drum Group will be Battle Crew.  Pallbearers will be Marcelo Barnett, Desmond Owens, Christian Owens, Corwin Bluedog, Kent Mallory, Sean Shepherd., Mike Sierra Sr., Matthew "Chewy" Moore, Sam Parys and Ted "Bubber" Mashbern.  Honorary Pallbearers will be The Beaver Family, The Tchida Family, The Wolcott Family, The Owens Family, The Iyarpeya Family, The Wolfvoice Family, The Biddel Family, Diana Falling, Rick LaCroix, and All of his Oklahoma Family and Friends. There will be a Wake Service on Friday July 15, 2022, at 7:00 P.M. and an All Night Wake service at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 16, 2022. Both of the wake services will be held at the Enemy Swim Community Center in Enemy Swim, South Dakota. Inurnment will be at a later date at the St. James Episcopal Cemetery in Waubay, South Dakota. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Dewey Dakotah Wolfvoice was born to Lorraine "Rainy" Iris and Dolph Wolfvoice on November 28, 1982 in Claremore, Oklahoma.  Dakotah lived at various places but mostly lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Moorhead, Minnesota, and Sisseton, South Dakota.  He attended schools in Tulsa, Oklahoma and later at Moorhead, Minnesota. He returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he meet his partner Andrea Tulsa.  Two years they stayed together before they had their first child Athena Wolfvoice.  Then three years later Skyla Wolfvoice.  He worked in construction and Anderson Roofing for most of his life.  Dakotah was a funny kind hearted man who enjoyed rolling joints and also smoking those joints, loved cookouts, fishing, cruising around listening to music, and going to the lake.  He most enjoyed these with friends and family.  He had many plants as well as a green thumb, loved taking pictures of the sky whether that be during the day or evening.  Dakotah passed away on July 12, 2022 at his home in Sisseton, SD.

Dewey is survived by his children Athena Wolfvoice of Wahpeton, ND; Skyla Wolfvoice of Sisseton, SD; and Eternity Munyon of Blythe, CA; sisters Terra (Corwin) Bluedog of Webster, SD, Ashley (Scott) Wolfvoice-Carson of Broken Arrow, OK, and Shauna Wolfvoice of Skiatook, OK; Brothers Billy Kohl of Peever, SD and Scott Big Pond of Tulsa, OK.; Uncle Michael "Huey" Wolfvoice and many other aunts, nieces, nephews, and one great nephew Marcelo Barnett of Webster, SD.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lorraine "Rainy" Wolfvoice; father Dolph Wolfvoice; aunt Josephine "Tess" Wolfvoice Willie; and brothers Chris Orlando and Dolphie Wolfvoice.
