Funeral Service for Desireē Dawn Eagle, Kunsi Waste Win "Good Special Grandmother Woman" 45 of Sisseton, SD will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. with dinner being served at noon at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village with Rev. Ken James and Gerald Heminger Jr. CRE Officiating. Pianist will Billy Kohl and Drum Group will be Wahpe ku ťe. Pallbearers will be Moses Renville, Billy Kohl, Robert Kohl, Josh Kohl, Jonathan Kohl and Curtis "CJ" Bissonette Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jessica Tiger, Rochelle and Josh Kohl, Dawn Thompson, Dawnett Thompson, Bernie and Bobby Kohl, Jonathan Kohl, and all the Ladies of the Big Coulee Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the Ascension Presbyterian Cemetery, Big Coulee. An all-night Wake Service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 7:00 P.m. at the SWO Tribal Community Center, Agency Village. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Desireē was born on May 8, 1979, in Sisseton, SD to Dean Price and Cheryl Eagle Ojeda. Desiree' was a homemaker most of her life. She loved working outdoors mowing lawns and tending to her beautiful garden. She loved her children and raising her grandchildren. Her great grandmother Clara Eagle taught her love and compassion. She lived her life upon those values instilled into all our lives. Desireē lived her life in Sisseton. Old Agency and Big Coulee. She was raised by her papa Richard (Rick) Ojeda as she grew up. In her path of life she met her common law husband, David Kohl from Big Coulee who she loved with all her heart and soul. Desireē lived her life to the fullest at Big Coulee where she became the lawn caretaker for Big Coulee Ascension Presbyterian Church. She was very involved in her church activities, especially being the auctioneer at church events. We are sure you will hear good stories about that. She is beautiful naturally as well with her heart and showed to us and the community. She did things with love and compassion. She loved her children and grandchildren, David, her family, and the Big Coulee community. Everything she did was for her kids, especially her grandchildren, they were her everything!! She was the BEST at everything she did. Desireē passed away at Ava's House, Sioux Falls, SD on October 28,2024.
Desireē survived by her husband, David Kohl of Sisseton, SD; five children, Kateri Renville of Sisseton, SD, Moses Renville of Sisseton, SD, Gabrielle Renville of Sisseton, SD, Tristin Renville of Sisseton, SD and Curtis Bisonette Jr. of Redwood Falls, MN; twelves siblings Michael Price, of Watertown, SD, Brandon Price of Tennessee, Dallas Price of Tennessee, Sheldon Price of Sioux Falls, SD, Dakota Price of Minneapolis, MN, Danielle Price of Minneapolis, MN, Garrett Ojeda of Sisseton, SD, Natasha DeCoteau of Flandreau, SD, Delah DeCoteau of Bismarck, ND, Candace DeCoteau of Newtown, ND and Casey McAndrew of Parshall, ND; thirteen grandchildren, Jonothan Kohl, Antonio Davila, Alonzo Renville, Lisa Redday, Lyla Goodsell, Draxtyn Goodsell, Benjamin White, Turner Schulitz, Daizy Renville, Nevaeh Cloud, LillyRay Cloud and Shawn Cloud; Auntie-mom, Michelle Walkingbull of Sisseton, SD; Aunt Pejihota Yuha Mani Win Lucero of Sisseton, SD; Maternal grandmother, Barbara LaCroix of Sisseton, SD
Desireē was preceded in death by her Grandson James Cloud; Maternal Grandfather Francis (Joe) White II, Maternal grandmother Florence Eagle; Maternal Great Grandparents Elijah and Clara Eagle Sr; Paternal grandparents Mary (Johnson) and Melvin Price; Great-grandparents Mary S. and Francis White Sr.
Desireē friends and family at Ascension Presbyterian Church appreciate her dedication over the years of being caretaker of Ascension Church, Cemetery and Guild Hall lawns.
