Funeral service for Dennis D. Fisher, 72 of Sisseton, SD, will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Sisseton, SD, with Pastor Abigail Ozanne officiating. Organist will be Michelle Greseth and soloist will be The Landmark Sister's, Wade Johnson and Janeen Kohl. Pallbearers will be Travis Fisher, Justin Fisher, Brandon Fisher, Samuel Fisher, Calvin Hove, Dave Gleason, and Ben Hanson. Honorary Pallbearers are all of Dennis's friends and family. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Dennis D. Fisher passed away on November 11, 2019 at his home in Sisseton, SD. Dennis D. Fisher was born in Sisseton, SD on November 18, 1946 to Delbert and Lylas (Landmark) Fisher. Dennis lived his life in Sisseton where he spent many years working as an electrician, inventor, and rancher.   On June 8, 1968 Dennis asked Lynneta (Lehrke) for her hand in marriage. Dennis and Lynneta celebrated over 51 years of marriage. Dennis and Lynneta have three sons, Travis, Justin, and Brandon.

Dennis started off working with Roberts County Highway Department, Estwick Distributing, and Cenex before obtaining his electrical license and starting his own electrical business called Fisher Electric. He continued to do electrical work for many years. After his years as an electrician he took a different path and started helping his dad on the ranch which he eventually took over. Dennis spent countless hours working with the cattle, feeding chores, fencing, and inventing new devices and tools to help make ranching life run more smoothly.

Dennis had many different talents that kept him busy ranging from songwriting, cooking, and drawing. He enjoyed playing his guitar at church events, with the "Wing Its" and in many other Sisseton events. He enjoyed writing gospel music and leading people in prayer. He was gifted in creating different structures with metal and skilled with a pencil and paper as well. Dennis's artwork was featured as Sisseton's winning logo on the 100-year centennial cookbook and other centennial celebration items. People also admired his many drawings featuring wildlife. Dennis's true passion was cooking. He would cook for any and all occasions, including many different famous artists that came to Sisseton to perform at the Performing Art Center, local benefits, and he would even build campfires when he was out ice fishing to feed the fishermen.  Dennis placed in many cooking competitions over the years. He won the Huron State Fair Chili Cook Off, went to Kansas City to compete in the Cabela's Cook Off and placed 3 ^rd in Chicken, he also competed in the Ribs and Brisket Cook Offs in Sisseton and won many different trophies there.

Dennis was a very patient and spiritual man. He enjoyed spending time visiting over coffee, pickup rides with his dog Sadie, and his candy stash, spending time with his family and was dedicated to reading his Bible daily. He was well known by his family and grandkids as Cupcake.

Dennis is survived by his wife Lynneta, sons Travis (Linda) Fisher of Polson, MT, Justin (Shannon) Fisher of Sisseton, SD, Brandon (Jennifer) Fisher of Sisseton, SD, six grandchildren-Hayley (Toby), Mollie, Samuel, Mason, Carson, and Michael, two great grandchildren, Lucy and Saylor, his brother Gerald (Becky) Fisher, nieces and nephews, and mother-in-law Dolores Lehrke. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, LaVern "Duke" Lehrke.
