Deloris was born on August 1, 1934 to William and Ethel (Hunter) Jordan in New Effington, SD where she was raised and attended school. Deloris was the youngest of thirteen children. After completing her education, she married Paul Schneider on June 4, 1955 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD. Together they ranched on the Michael and Elizabeth Schneider original homestead in Long Hollow Township. Paul passed away suddenly on December 22nd, 1979. Deloris, at the age of 45, was left to continue the ranch operation on her own. She was a very hard worker. She would rarely ask for help and she took pride in raising sheep and haying her land. She loved her land, her home, and her dog Sandy. Deloris loved gardening and raising beautiful flowers wherever she lived. She was a talented needlework artist who created numerous hand crocheted pieces over the years. She crocheted The Last Supper which she donated to St. Peter's Church where it hangs in the church hall today. When the winters in the Coteau Hills became too tough and lambing too much, she moved to town. After moving into town, she assisted her sister-in-law, Margaret Schneider, with some part-time cleaning work. She volunteered at Tekakwitha Living Center, and was a member of the St. Peter's Altar Society. In 2021, Deloris moved to Edgewood Assisted Living Center in Sisseton, SD. Wherever Deloris lived, she maintained a wealth of friends and friendships.

Deloris is survived by her sister-in-law Beverly Schneider, numerous nieces and nephews and her many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Ethel (Hunter) Jordan; her husband Paul; and her siblings Robert, Arnold, Milton, William Jr., Stella, Evelyn, Ruth, Thelma, Ordella, Luella, Darlene, and Adeline.
