Funeral Service for Dean Nelson Kitto, 45 will be held on Friday November 6, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at St. John's the Baptist Church, Browns Valley, MN with final viewing at 12:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD with Fr. Charles Chan, Fr. Conrad Ciecel and Deacon Betsey Ciecel and Episcopal Lay Readers officiating with Pianist Kay Bursheim. Pallbearers will be Elliott Kitto-Barse, Jesse Kitto, Kenny Abraham Sr., Romeo Renville, Daniel Shepherd, Ray Shepherd III and Anjelo Shepherd. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob James, Freeman Hawk, Keith Huff, Cory Renville, Mark Armell, Charlotte Shepherd, Navah Keeble, Derrick Redday, Bill Argo Jr. Randy Boardman, John Philcher, Joe Eastman, Joe James and Kyle Kampeska . Wake Services will be Wednesday, November 4, 2015 and Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. with Thursdays wake being an all night wake starting at 7:00 P.M. at Sisseton Wahpeton Community Center, Agency Village, SD. Interment will be at the St. John's the Baptist Cemetery, Browns Valley, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.
Dean was born to Clyde Philbrick and Charlotte Herman on November 11, 1969 in Yankton, SD. He was adopted by Charles and Irene Kitto when he was a month old. Dean attended grade school in Browns Valley and later he attended Flandreau, where he met and married Kendra Arcoren the mother of his sons Jesse and Kidd. After he received his GED he attended UTTC where he studied auto mechanics. Dean worked seasonal construction in road and interstate cement. He worked other various jobs and worked for Gordon Construction of Mahnomen, MN before retiring due to his poor health. He later married Lisa Barse in October of 2000 they had adopted Elliott in 2001 and Mina in 2009.
Dean is survived by his mother Charlotte Herman of Nebraska; sons Jesse Kitto of Agency Village, SD, Kidd Kitto of Springfield, SD, Elliott Kitto- Barse of Sisseton, SD, Derrick Arcoren of Sioux Falls, SD and daughter Mina LaBelle of Agency Village, SD; sisters Katie McKay of Browns Valley, MN, Darlyn Kitto of Browns Valley, MN, Vastana James of Browns Valley, MN, Kim and Claudette Philbrick of Nebraska, brother, Nelson Philbrick of Nebraska and Charles Bad Moccasin of Wisconsin; and cousin Marva Red Thunder of Agency Village, SD.
Dean was preceded in death by his wife Kendra; father Clyde Philbrick, adopted parents Charles Kitto and Frances Kitto; paternal grandfather Lawrence Philbrick; brother Earlwin Kitto; sister Ramona Keeble; granddaughter Ashley Kitto and Ronnie Keeble, grandson Tyson Renville and nephews Brice Mckay, Andrew Shepherd, Brandon Shepherd, Adrian Keeble and nieces Claudette Keeble and Tammy Shepherd; cousin John Paul Little.
