Obituary

Funeral Mass for Darren Cletus George, 47 of Sisseton, SD will be Wednesday May 9, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Peters Catholic Church Sisseon, SD. Visitation will be Tuesday May 8, 2012 at the Cahill Funeral Chapel in Sisseton from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. then at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Sisseton, SD from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. prayer Service. Visitiation one hour prior to Funeral Service on Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Cahill Funeral Cahpel is in charge of arrangements.
Darren was born on August 6, 1964 near Sisseton, SD to Cletus and Darla (Brown) George. He grew up and attended school in Sisseton, SD. After his education Darren was employed as a commercial fisherman in Alaska. He worked in Minneapolis for a time for Randy George, George's Blacktop Service and as a General Home Improvement Contractor. Darren then returned to Sisseton and was self employed as a carpenter. Darren was always willing to help various community people and family as a local independent contractor. He liked to fish, hunt, ride motorcycle, keeping up with the news and watching Good Morning America and 60 Minutes, and calling people at all hours of the night. Darren was also an avid pool player. He enjoyed visiting with all his relatives.He also liked to do carpenter work and helped to take care of his parents. He was a member of St. Catherine's Church in Sisseton. Darren passed away on May 4, 2012 as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Darren is survived by his parents Cletus and Darla George of Sisseton, SD; four brothers, Daniel George of Sisseton, SD, Glen George of Rapid City, SD, Robert and Lisa George of Frankfort, SD, and David George of Sisseton, SD; two sisters, DeeAnna Tempel and Sharla George of Westport, SD; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, family, and friends.
Darren was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Memorials will be used for Darren's funeral fund.
