Funeral Service for Darlyn Pearl Kitto, 77, of Browns Valley, Minnesota will be Friday, March 5, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at St. John's Episcopal Church, Browns Valley, Minnesota with Fr. Charles Chan, Fr. Conrad Ciesel and Betsy Ciesel officiating. Drum Group will be Long Elk. Pallbearers will be Lupe Polina, Rex Godfey, Johnny Kitto, Romeo Renville, Tyler Shepherd and Daniel Shepherd. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sophronia Crawford, Francine Small, Marcella Haug, Cheryl Ann Renville, and Dorthea Wilson. Wake services will be held at the Lake Traverse District Center on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. and an all night Wake on Thursday, March 4, 2021 starting at 7:00 P.M. Interment will be at St. John's Episcopal Cemetery, Browns Valley, MN. Masks and social distancing are required. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Darlyn Pearl Redday was born August 18,1943 in rural Browns Valley, to Jonas Redday and Frances I. Wilson. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church. She was raised by her dad Charles and Frances Kitto. Darlyn attended grade school at North Bryant W.I.S. in Wahpeton, ND, and high school in Browns Valley MN. She furthered her education at S.W.C.C. While going to college she worked in the college café as a cook. She also was a Dakota language teacher at Browns Valley School District, she also worked for Head Start. Darlyn enjoyed traveling, going to Pow-Wow's, listening to country, blues and other music. She also enjoyed mending, sewing, doing cross word puzzles, putting puzzles together, reading riding around, visiting with family and friends, celebrating birthdays, and cook outs. She was a giving person, always helping family in any way she can. Our Mom will be missed by her family, friends and anyone that knew her.
Darlyn passed away from health issues on February 27, 2021 at Sanford hospital in Fargo, ND.
Darlyn is survived by one son Carlos Kitto (Lahoma King) of Rosholt, SD and one daughter Opal (Romeo) Renville of Agency Village, SD.; two sister Katie McKay of Browns Valley, MN, Sylvia Blue of Peever, SD; 7 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Her Spirit Lake, ND. family Barb (Burton) Jackson, Robert (Butch) Little, James (Goo-Goo) Little and Lil Paula Thompson.
Darlyn was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Frances (Wilson) Kitto; her maternal grandparent Hannah Sweetcorn; paternal grandparents David Tunwanmaza Wilson; two brothers Dean Kitto, Earlwin Kitto; two sisters Vastana James, Ramona Keeble; two son's Paul (Jon) Little Jr., and Silvester Little, one nephew Brice McKay and two grandchildren Ashley Kitto and Tyson Renville.
