Funeral Service for Darek Littlethunder, WakinyanNa (Sacred Thunder), 31, of Minneapolis, Minnesota will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at the Old Agency District Center, Agency Village, SD with Fr. Charles Chan, Mike Lafontaine and Coke Lafontaine officiating.  Pall Bearers will be Robert Grant, Darian Saul, Lorenzo Walker and Clifford Brown.         Honorary Pallbearers will be Waylon Wabasha, Nikolas Saul, Todd Lund Jr., Adrian Lund, and Gabriel Jaimes.   There will be Wake Services on Monday, May 22, 2023, and Tuesday, May 23, 2023, starting at 7:00 P.M. at the Old Agency District Center, Agency Village, SD. Interment will be at the St. Mary's Episcopal Cemetery, Agency Village, South Dakota.   The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Darek Lee Littlethunder "WakinyanNa" Sacred Thunder was born on April 10, 1992, in Des Moines, Iowa to Chanon Saul and Daryl Littlethunder Jr. He attended school at Circle of Nations in Wahpeton where he graduated.  He then attended Western Iowa Technical College. He later moved to Minnesota.

He enjoyed playing video games and making sure his children were good.  His favorite color was Red and Minnesota was his favorite football team. Darek passed away in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 17, 2023.

Darek is survived by his children, Giavonna Ellington and Chaskae Littlethunder; his spouse, Becky Lee; children mother, Mandy  Roper;  step father, Lorenzo Walker; siblings, Courtney Saul and Darian Saul; aunt, Joannie and Clifford Brown; uncles, John Saul and Colin Crow.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Chanon Saul; father, Daryl Littlethunder, sister, Collette Saul; grandmother, Janice Saul; great grandmother, Loraine Thomas; uncles, Byron Saul and Leland Saul; cousin, Marcus Johnson.
