Family Funeral Service for Daniel "Butch" Moses Williams, 75 of Sisseton, SD will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD with Pastor Vern Donnell officiating. Pallbearers will be Tracy Heminger, Sr., John Heminger, Stan Barse, Jr., Jacob Barse, Sr., Jacky White, Kyle Williams and Brian Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Vine Marks, Jr., Tim Max, Scott & Marsha LaCroix, Dolly McConnell, Jake DeMarrias, Preston Fryer, Jeff Fryer, Joe Williams, Frank Williams, Randy White, Darrell White, David White, Leon Schwagel and Staff and Residents of Tekakwitha Living Center. There will be visitation at the Cahill Funeral Chapel from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Graveside Service will be held at the St. John's Episcopal Cemetery, Browns Valley SD at 2:00 P.M. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Butch was born on June 30, 1945 to Jerry Sully and Zelma Williams in Sisseton, SD. Butch and his sisters Linda and Rose were later raised by their maternal grandparents, Daniel and Rebecca DeMarrias Williams following their mothers death. Butch attended Sisseton Public School and graduated in 1964. Butch made a career in Auto Body repair and became one of the best in his field of work. He lived and worked in St. Paul, MN, Los Angeles, C; and surrounding cities in CA working with his Uncle/Brothers Clyde "Joe" Williams and Laurs Williams. He also lived in Arizona, Denver and Rapid City, SD. Butch met and married Leah Hofland. To this union they had a daughter Diamond Rose Patricia Williams. In February 2015 Butch suffered a stroke and had been a resident at the Tekakwitha Living Center until the time of his death on November 14, 2020.
Butch is survived by his daughters, Diamond of Sioux Falls, SD and DeShannon of Oklahoma; his special granddaughter Rebekkah Rose Heminger of Peever,SD; Sister Rose Heminger of Peever, SD; nephews Tracy (Leslie) Heminger of Peever, SD. and John Heminger of Peever, SD, Stanley (Jessica) Barse, Jr. of Summit, SD and Jacob Barse, Sr. of Summit, SD; niece Lynette Barse of Sisseton, SD; uncles/brothers, Clyde "Joe" Williams of Rosholt, SD, Frank (LeriLee) Williams of Sioux Falls, SD and sister, Shar Siyaka of St. Paul, MN.
Butch is preceded in death by his mother Zelma Williams, Father Jerry Sully, Maternal Grandparents Dan Williams, Rebecca D. Williams, Sister Linda, Step son Joshua Hofland, Spouse Leah Williams and many aunts and uncles.
