Memorial Service for Daniel Eric Salembier, 36, of Sisseton, SD, will be held on November 28, 2009 at 4:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church, of Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Peter Reynen officiating. Ember Dady will be the organist with special music will be provided by the Wing-its.
Daniel was born on August 29, 1973 in Sikeston, Missouri to Alphonse and Donna (Groos) Salembier. He grew up and attended school in Dixon, Illinois, graduating from Dixon High School in 1992. Dan then attended Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin for one year. He then went to Montana to attend Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana graduating in 2004 with a B.S. in Abused Land Reclamation. After his college education Dan worked in the Florida Everglades and worked with New Mexico State University. Dan was diagnosed with cancer in February of 2008. He continued to work at New Mexico State University until May of 2009 when he came to Sisseton and stayed until his death on November 24, 2009. Dan loved the outdoors, he liked to snowboard, scuba dive, and swim. He also loved camping, hiking, and fly fishing.
Dan is survived by his parents, Alphonse Salembier of Parks, AZ, and Donna Salembier of Sisseton, SD, one brother Andrew Salembier of Flagstaff, AZ, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dan was preceded in death by his Maternal and Paternal grandparents.
