Codi Lynn Neconish, 44, of Agency Village, SD, passed away on June 12, 2026, at her mother's home Agency Village, SD. There will be a Funeral service for Codi Lynn Neconish "Ḣaŋteṡa Wakaŋ Wiŋ" (Holy Cedar Woman) on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD at 1:00 P.M. with a meal starting at noon. Eyapaha will be Jesse Larson. Pallbearers will be  Jason Eastman, Jerry Eastman, Chebon Eastman, Leslie "Hutchie" Neconish, James "Jimmy" Neconish, Jeremiah Rederth Jr., Jay Schaeffer, Robbie Somerset.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Sarah Benting, Brian "Big Bri" Caldwell, Big Sister Cousin Lisa Caldwell, April Eastman, Shaun Eastman, Brandi Eastman, Nicole Eastman, Heather Larsen, Angie Eastman, Amanda Eastman, Willow His Many Lightnings, Duran Eastman, Raymond Eastman, Donnie "Butchie" Eastman, Ohiyesa Eastman, B.J His Many Lightnings, Tristan Eastman, Uncle Pershing (Hootsie) "Sport" Freschette, Leah Fyten, Stanley "Googs" Grignon, Jodi His Many Lightnings, Auntie Lisa Kakkak, Nahmi Lasley, Beverly Mason, Jerald Pretty Voice Crane, Jr., Rowden Schipper, Lee Soward, Mike Tollefson, Elizabeth Van Beek, Robin Waukau, Rachel Haack, Rosanne Olson, Mae Mendoza, Brooke Sanapaw, and Bobbi Jo Caldwell & Sarah Weston. Drum Group will be the Eastman Boys.  Interment will be in the Eastman Family Cemetery, Eden, South Dakota. There will be All-Night Wakes on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, and Thursday, June 18, 2026, starting at 7:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chape is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Codi Lynn Neconish "Ḣaŋteṡa Wakaŋ Wiŋ" (Holy Cedar Woman) was born on July 19, 1981 to Colleen His Many Lightnings and James "Jim" Neconish in Sisseton, South Dakota and was welcomed by her relatives in the spirit world on June 12, 2026 at home. Codi had five beautiful children, James "Jimmy" Neconish (Peever, SD), Cherish Lynn Neconish (Flandreau, SD), Robbie Somerset (Bagley, MN), Jeremiah Rederth, Jr. (Fargo, ND) and Jocielynn Neconish (Browns Valley, MN). She was also waiting for her first takoja who is to come in September of 2026. Codi went to elementary and middle school at the Flandreau Public Schools and high school at the Flandreau Indian School, (where she made loads of friends!) and she later graduated high school in Arizona. Codi loved to rummage and thrift, write poetry and dance! She also loved fishing, Bruce Lee movies, books, gardening (especially her fresh snap peas) and loved pizza. Codi made her presence known everywhere she went and nobody will forget her forever laughing and big beautiful smile. She was one of those relative/friends that could go a long time without seeing you, but make you feel like no time had passed. She had a big heart and loved even bigger. Codi was someone who brought joy to every room she entered, was so full of life and happiness.

Codi is survived by her takoja to be, children, James "Jimmy" Neconish, Cherish Lynn Neconish, Robbie Somerset, Jeremiah Rederth, Jr. & Jocielynn Neconish, mother Colleen His Many Lightnings, father James "Jim" & Sunny Neconish, sisters Shadow His Many Lightnings and Jade LaFontaine, and brother Leslie "Hutchie" Neconish, numerous aunts and uncles, many cousins, and a great deal of friends and finally her fur baby Hulk Smash.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents DuWayne "Big Boy" & Delores (Azure) Eastman, grandparents Wayne "PeeWee" Eastman and Olivia Eastman, grandmother Marlene Caldwell, grandfather Roger Kakkak, great-grandfather Leslie "Hutch" Caldwell, grandparents Clayton & Louella Neconish, special Uncle Colin (Bobby) Caldwell, Special Auntie Kathleen Caldwell, Uncle Melvin (Myrna) Caldwell, Lori Caldwell, Uncle Wayne Eastman, Aunt Evon Amy Eastman, cousins Autumn Johnson, Chase Becker, Christopher Johnson, Sheila Eastman and Reece Weston.
