An all-night Wake Service for Claude Roy Keeble, "Thunder and Lighting Boy, 56 of Browns Valley, MN will be held on Tuesday, May 11 th beginning at 7:00 pm at the SWO Community Center in Agency Village, SD. Funeral services will be on Wednesday May 12 th, starting with a noon meal and service at 1:00 pm. Father Charles Chan will officiate, and Tim White and Elena Wilson will provide music. Interment will follow at the St. John the Baptist Episcopal Cemetery. The drum group will be led by Craig Spider and the Kit Fox Society will provide Veteran honors. Pall Bearers are Angelo Shepherd, Andrew Shepherd Jr., Austin Shepherd, Dustin James, Charlie Vermillion, Prosper Thunder Hawk, Thomas Fayant and Robert White Thunder. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Dave Drum, Carlos Kitto, Tom Flute, Freeman Hawk, Randy Iyarpeya, Hank Iyarpeya, Bobby Iyarpeya, Chuck Shepherd, Craig Nelson, Marcel Armell, Rod and Roberta Tuttle, Kim Red Wing, Stu and Cynthia Red Wing, Philip "Blondie" Johnson, Redina Red Wing, and the Walter Cody John Honor Guard Isanti Dakota Akicita. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangement.
Claude was born on July 22, 1964 to Ramona Kitto and Alfred "George" Keeble. Claude completed his GED and joined the Army. He served his country for 12 years. He was stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky; Germany; Fort Carson, CO; Korea and Fort Hood, Texas: Claude was also sent to "Operation Enduring Freedom" in Kuwait. He was united in marriage to Sharon Armell from March 3, 2016 until his death. He was Grandpa to Shari's grandchildren and had a special bond with Star, who was his baby. Claude was a mechanic and laborer. He liked working on cars and he took carpentry classes at SWC. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. He was raised in Lake Traverse and Enemy Swim. Claude was a grass dancer who liked to travel around to pow wows. He won at Browns Valley Pow Wow in 2019 with no regalia, taking second place in the street clothes competition. He said he still had it! He liked to play cards, throw horseshoes and get together with his friends. Claude Roy Keeble "Thunder and Lightning Boy" journeyed to the spirit world on May 6, 2021 in Fargo, ND surrounded by family.
Claude is survived by his children Wakute Hupahusha Keeble and Holli Red Wing, grandchildren Lucas and Lena, all of Santee, NE; his wife Shari of Browns Valley, MN; sisters Nicolette Keeble and Fern Keeble, brothers George Keeble and Daniel Shepherd; Auntie Katie McKay and a host of relatives and friends.
Claude was preceded in death by his twin, Claudette Keeble, parents Alfred and Ramona Keeble, brothers Adrian Keeble, Brandon Shepherd and Andrew Shepherd.
