Funeral Service for Chaske Sage Iyarpeya-Gishick, Mahpiya Ahomni Kinyan Hoksina, "Flying around in the Sky Boy", infant son of Justin Geshick and Liza Iyarpeya passed away on June 22, 2014 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 4:00 PM at the Enemy Swim community Center, Enemy Swim, SD with the Rev. Charles Chan officiating. The Drum will be Long Elk. Pallbearers will be Hank Iyarpeya and Jack Crawford. Honorary pallbearers will be Maria and Michael Iyarpeya, and Alyssa and Judith Geshick, and Kristie Keeble, and all of the couples family and friends. Interment will be in the St. James Episcopal Cemetery, Enemy Swim, SD. There will be an all night wake on Wednesday,
Chaske is survived by his parents, Justin Geshick of Agency Village, SD and Liza Iyarpeya of Waubay, SD, maternal grandparents Barb Iyarpeya and Randy Iyarpeya of Waubay, SD, maternal great-grandmother Roberta Fayant of Waubay, SD, paternal grandmother Judith Geshick of Minneapolis, MN, paternal great-grandmother Gertrude Borsaw of Browns Valley, MN, paternal adopted grandmother, Kristie Keeble and paternal adopted great-grandmother Mary Keeble-Blackthunder, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Chaske was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather Wilford Fayant Sr. and his paternal grandfather Alvin Allery, and his paternal great-grandfather.
