Obituary

Funeral Service for Charlotte Mae Strutz, 81, of Waubay, South Dakota will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at St. James Episcopal Church, Enemy Swim, South Dakota with Rev. Charles Chan and Rev. Les Campbell officiating. Organist will be Kay Bursheim. Pallbearers will be Patrick Rockwood Jr., Steve Rockwood, Barry Rockwood, Todd Rockwood, Kenney Seaboy Jr., Kevin Roberts, Brandon Rockwood and Brice Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joanne Rockwood, Melda Hawkins, Bernadette Moccasin, Henrietta Hopper, Mary Keeble, Ellen Fisher and Staci Jo Strutz. There will be a Wake Service on Saturday November 8th at 7:00 P.M. and an all night wake on Sunday November 9th at 7:00 P.M. at St. James Guild Hall. Interment will be in the St. James Episcopal Cemetery, Enemy Swim, South Dakota.
Charlotte was born on June 10, 1933 at Sisseton, South Dakota to Elmer and Eunice (Keeble) Rockwood Sr. Charlotte grew up in the Waubay and Enemy Swim area. She attended the Enemy Swim Day School. She was baptized and confirmed at the St. James Episcopal Church. She was a member of the St James Ladies Aid. She served as treasurer for St. James for many years. She married Theodore Strutz in Madison, MN in 1952. They lived in various places. They raised two sons and fostered two children Roy Twosticks and Cheryl Kampeska Owen. She enjoyed music, dancing, cooking, baking and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a cook for the Waubay Public School for a total of 28 years, and where she received much recognition for her time and dedication. Charlotte died on Friday, November 7, 2014 at her home in Enemy Swim.
Charlotte is survived by sons James Patrick Strutz Sr. and Rodger Dion Strutz and daughter-in-law Staci Jo Strutz, her grandchildren, Lizette Rae Strutz, James Patrick Strutz Jr., Thomas Joseph Strutz, Lacey Jade Strutz; Ashlynn Jessica Strutz, and Jalene Renae Strutz and great grandchildren Alex Cole Provost, Caleb James Strutz, Sydney Lanae Strutz, Camden Neilan, Kenyin Theodore Joseph Strutz, Kasen James Strutz, and sister Germaine Cynthia Rockwood, and great great grandson Jaden Barnette.
Charolette was preceded in death by her parents Elmer Rockwood Sr. and Eunice Keeble; her husband Theodore Strutz; brothers Steve Bluedog, Elmer Rockwood Jr., Patrick Woodrow Rockwood Sr., and sister Donna Lou Behnke Rockwood and Jerena Elaine Roberts Bluedog.
