Obituary

The Funeral Service for Charles Raymond Shepherd, TaSunké Omani "His Roaming Horse", 38, of Sisseton, South Dakota will be held at the Enemy Swim Community Center, Enemy Swim, South Dakota at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, June 17, 2022 with Valorie Augustson and Episcopal Lay Readers will be officiating. Drum group will be Battle Crew. Pallbearers will be Joshua LaFontaine, Chase Feather, Moses Rodlund, Brian Rodlund Jr., Charlie Vermillion, and DJ Blue Dog. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Charlies's Relatives and Friends, Dakota 38 Riders, Rodeo Buddies, and the Grain Bin Crew. Interment will be in St. James Episcopal Cemetery, Enemy Swim, South Dakota following the service. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, South Dakota are in charge of funeral arrangements.

Charles (Chuck) Raymond Shepherd, 38, of Sisseton, South Dakota was born on June 5, 1984. He grew up at Lake Traverse with his grandpa Raymond Shepherd and Grandma Ramona Keeble. He liked riding and working with the horses on the Milton (gramps) Peterson ranch with the boys. Charles attended Browns Valley Elementary School then later went to Tiospa Zina Tribal School for middle school. During his time in middle school, he played football. For high school, Charles went to Seattle, Washington. Chuck received his GED through the youth build in Old Agency. He loved attending rodeos and riding bulls. Chuck worked various jobs but loved doing grain bins. He liked watching movies, especially Willow. Charles was a friendly guy and made friends everywhere he went and was always willing to lend a hand. On December 15, 2005, Chuck had his first daughter Charley Marie and on February 28, 2008, he had his first and only son Cody Quinton.

Charles is survived by his two children; Charley Richards of Sisseton SD and Cody Shepherd of Sisseton SD, three brothers; Nathan Shepherd of Waubay SD, Derrick Shepherd of Rosholt SD, and Darren Shepherd of Browns Valley MN, grandmother Marva Redthunder of Sisseton, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Charles is preceded in death by his mother Tamara Shepherd, brother Jason Shepherd, and grandfather Raymond Shepherd, Jr. and a sister, Jessica Rose Shepherd.
