Funeral services for Charles Reuban White, 82, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, South Dakota with Pastor Lynette Minc
ks and Gerald Heminger Jr. Officiating. Interment will be in the Veteran Section of the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, South Dakota with military Rites by the Vietnam Veterans. Special Music by Kathy and Joe White, and Steve Farmer Sr. and Kevin Farmer. Organist will be Billy Kohl. Pallbearers will be Tristian Eastman, Bud White, Darwin White, Dusty Arredondo, Danny White, and Cody White. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Charles Family and Friends, Orville Bubak and Floyd Demarrias. There will be wake services on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 7:30 PM at Cahill Funeral Chapel.
Charles was born on April 11, 1926 at Sisseton, South Dakota to Charles and Ella (King) White. Attended school at Sisseton and during high school was chosen Chieftain. He entered the Navy on May 21, 1943 and was discharged due to disability on October 21, l943. He married Florestine (Tina) Williams on March 15, 1948 at Wheaton, MN. They lived in Sisseton and then moved to Nebraska for a couple of years, and then Minneapolis where he worked for Fry roofing Company as a foreman, and he later worked as a security guard at Kellogg Company. He moved back to Sisseton in 2003. On June 6, 2006 he entered a nursing home in Milbank. He like playing pool and hunting, and fishing. Charles died on January 17, 2009 at Golden Living Center at Milbank, South Dakota.
Charles is survived by three sons, Charles (Jacky) White III of Sisseton, South Dakota, Darrell White and David White of Agency Village, South Dakota; Sixteen Grandchildren and Eighteen Great Grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, paternal and maternal grandparents, sisters Irene Elton, Rena Maestes, Lorraine Hill, Lillian Christianson, and brothers Frances, Virgil and Nathan; one daughter Michalene.
