Funeral Service for Charlene Tara Ironstar will be held on April 3, 2024 with lunch served at 12:00 P.M., with final viewing at 1:30 P.M. at Enemy Swim District Center and funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. at St. James Episcopal Church, Enemy Swim, SD. Officiating will be Fr. Charles Chan, Fr. Conrad Ciesil, Deacon Bitsy Ciesel, and Episcopal Lay Readers with Hand Drum by Brian Sargeant. Pall bearers will be Wyatt Christensen, Mike Iyarpeya, Dallas Waege, Austin Ironstar Sr., Iver Campbell Jr., and Paul Sargeant. Honorary Pall bears will be Adrielle Ironstar, Austin Ironstar Jr., Lucille Ironstar, Harper Christensen, Theo Christensen, Jason John, Chaske John, Dastina Robertson, Dustin Robertson Jr., Gracie Iyarpeya, Sonia Rouillard, Noreen Iyarpeya, Vanessa Grassrope, Natalie Max, and Kerrie Roberts. Wake services will be April 1, 2024, at 7:00 P.M. and April 2, 2024 an all night wake starting at 7:00 P.M. at the Enemy Swim District Center. Interment will be at St. James Episcopal Cemetery, Enemy Swim, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Charlene Tara Ironstar was born on January 12, 1971, in Sisseton, SD to Iven Sargeant Sr. and Lucinda Ironstar. She attended school in Waubay, SD. She was Baptized and Confirmed at St. James. Charlene moved around and lived in Sioux Falls, Watertown, Brookings, Yankton, and Roslyn. She studied to be a CNA and Medical Coding She worked various jobs at Turkey Plant, HSA as client support, and enjoyed fixing cars.
Charlene was always laughing, enjoyed riding motorcycle especially Harley Davidson's, she loved her family and friends. She really liked her pickles and especially loved to spoil her grandbabies. Charlene was an avid Packers football fan. Charlene passed away on March 29, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Society in De Smet, SD.
Charlene is survived by her children Brittany Hislaw Bismark, ND, Austin (Jewell) Ironstar Sr. Watertown, SD, Ashley Ironstar Sioux Falls, SD, Alysha (Wyatt) Christensen Hayti, SD; grandchildren Adrielle Ironstar, Austin Ironstar Jr., Lucille Ironstar, Harper Christensen, Theo Christensen, Jason John, Chaske John, Dastina Robertson, and Dustin Robertson Jr.; brothers Brian Sargeant and Iven Sargeant Jr.; sisters Lucy Sargeant and Jackie Sargeant; numerous niece, nephews, and cousins.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents Iven Sargeant Sr. and Lucinda Ironstar; brothers Timothy Ironstar and Theodore Ironstar; sisters Clarissa Sargeant and Melissa Sargeant; maternal grandparents Marion and John Hayes; paternal grandparents Andrew and Pansy (McBride) Sargeant.
