Funeral Service for Cedric Cyril King, Hehaka Hanska, Long Elk, 68, of Rosholt, South Dakota will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Lake Traverse District Center, Browns Valley, MN with Fr Charles Chan and St. Mary's Lay Readers officiating. Drum Group will be The Buffalo Lake Drum Group. Pallbearers will be Daniel Barse, Daniel Shepherd, Brandon (BJ) Harwood, Leslie King, Arturo (Tootles) Dominguez, Elias Ortley and Mel Huff. Honorary Pallbearers will be Louie Johnson, Vernon (Pasha) Renville, Darwin James, Nathan Jimmy Smith, Alan (Amos) White, Jerome Renville Sr., Jeff Shepherd, Smiley Shepherd, Joe (Uncle) Williams, Joe CircleBear, John Redday, Cecil Longie, Duane Jackson, Lee Jackson, Leona Iyarpeya, Janel Many Lightings, Sylvia King, Lloyd "Buddy" Labelle, Frank Redroad, Gary Kosklowski and All the Buffalo9 Lake Sun dancers. Interment will be in St. John's Episcopal Cemetery, Browns Valley, MN. Wake services will be held on Saturday March 13, 2021 at 7:00 P.M., Sunday March 14, 2021 at 7:00 P.M., Monday, March 15, 2021 an all-night wake starting at 7:00 P.M. all services at the Lake Traverse District Center. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Cedric King was born to Hilda Ortley and William King on April 8, 1952 at Sisseton, SD. He attended Wahpeton Indian School and Sisseton High School. He married Arlene King. He lived in Minnesota for a while and built furniture. He then married Gloria King and lived in Devils Lake and worked as a janitor at a school. In the early 1980s he moved back to Lake Traverse Area. Cedi was a traditional dancer and sundancer. He loved going to Pow-Wows, fishing, riding horses, loved outdoor work, and was an artist Cedric died on March 10, 2021 at Yankton, SD.

Cedi is survived by his children Cedric King Jr. of Fergus Falls, MN, Lisa Motz of Fergus Falls, MN, Bradley King of Fergus Falls, MN, Nathan King of Fergus Falls, MN, Yolando Meyers of Ft. Totten, ND, Tyson King of Ft. Totten, ND, Heather Watts of Browns Valley, MN, Michael White of Rosholt, SD,, Gabriel King of Aberdeen, SD, , and Joseph James of Sisseton, SD; two brothers Theodore King of Sisseton, SD, Earl DeMarrias of Peever, SD; and six sisters Peggy King of Rosholt, SD, Wilma King of Sisseton, SD, Brenda King of Rosholt, SD, Patlin Norris of Minnesota, Sharon Ellingson of Wadena, MN and Faith DeMarrias of Watertown, SD, and numerous grandkids, nieces and nephews.

Cedi was preceded in death by his parents Hilda and William; brothers Willard King, Gerald M. King, Darrell DeMarrias, Sampson DeMarrias and Dennis Brant; Sisters Ernestine Huff and Martha King,
