Funeral Service For Caroline Mae Abraham, Sunktokaca Tais'ni Win, 86, of Browns Valley, MN will be held on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Enemy Swim Community Center, Enemy Swim, SD, with Rev. Fr. Charles Chan and the St. James Lay Readers officiating. Pallbearers will be Dennis Gill Jr., Brent Valtierra, Thomas Getzlaff, Brady Cloud, Chauncey Bird, Chris Rouillard, Justin Kongi, and Terry Cloud. Honorary Pallbearers will be "All of Caroline's friends, and the St. James ECW". Interment will be in the St. James Episcopal Cemetery, Enemy Swim, SD. There will be wake services on Saturday, and Sunday, February 8, and 9, at 7:00 PM at the Enemy Swim Community Center, Enemy Swim, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton SD is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Caroline Mae Cloud was born to Vera Hisgun and Levi Cloud July 4, 1933 in Sisseton South Dakota.
Caroline grew up near Lake Traverse and had to spend a year in a sanitarium when she was 16 after contracting Tuberculosis. After graduating from Flandreau Indian School, Caroline married Pete Abraham and they had five children and made their home in Browns Valley MN.
Caroline later moved to Waubay South Dakota and worked as a home health nurse. She met Daniel Campbell and they had three children and made their home in the Waubay area.
Caroline was active in the St. James Episcopal Church Women (ECW) known as the ladies aid of St. James.
Caroline stayed home and raised her children and helped raise her grandchildren. Caroline and Dan always made sure to take the kids on an annual camping trip in the Black Hills.
Caroline enjoyed cruising the countryside and visiting with Dan. They were well known to be gone by 9 am each day to take trip around the world. She continued to do this with her children and grandchildren after Dan passed. She enjoyed watching her stories and visiting with friends.
Caroline passed away 18 years later on the same day as her husband and son passed. She enjoyed listening to the Dakota Hymnals and was listening to the Dakota Hymnal, Amazing Grace, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Daniel, sister Gladys, brother Roger, sons Weldon and Allen, daughter Juanita, granddaughter Lindsey and Great-granddaughter Lily.
Caroline is survived by her daughter Debra Abraham, Lyle Abraham, Cyril Abraham, all of Browns Valley, MN, Eugene Campbell of St. Peters MN and Matthew Campbell of Waubay SD. Caroline had 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way.
