Funeral Service for Carol Anne Nickolauson, 82, of Bristol, South Dakota will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the Cahill Funeral Chapel in Sisseton, South Dakota starting at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Joshua Knudsen officiating. Urn Bearers will be Esmee, Everlee, and Kailyn. Honorary Urn Bearers will be Jodie Reece, Matthew Nickolauson, Michelle Brekke, Kimberly Brekke, Tonya Mayou, and Hayley Mayou. There will be visitation prior to the service starting at 11:00 A.M. till service time. Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, South Dakota.

Carol was born to Arthur and Anna (Van Winkle) Christopherson on December 29, 1940, in Ortonville, Minnesota. She graduated from Ortonville High School. On April 12, 1959, she married Delvin Nickolauson in Ortonville. They then moved to Sisseton, South Dakota and lived on a farm. Carol worked as a CNA at Tekakwitha Living Center and Coteau Des Prairie Hospital. She was also a med aide at the Browns Valley Health Care Center. Carol then worked at Dakota where she worked until she retired in 1985. She was also a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included plastic canvas, crocheting, sewing, making clothing, crafting sewing, puzzles, reading, bingo, and watching the Minnesota Twins play. Carol loved being on the farm. She loved her animals; she had a cat named Rollie, and two dogs Rockie and Buddy.

Carol is survived by her children Richard (Shauna) Nickolauson, Patty Brekke, Teresa (Mick Schulz) Mayou; sister Alice Maher; grandchildren Jodie Reece, Matthew Nickolauson, Michelle Brekke, Kimberly Brekke, Tonya Mayou, and Hayley Mayou; great-grandchildren Esmee, Everlee, and Kailyn.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Anna Christopherson; husband Delvin Nickolauson; three brothers Lloyd, Myron, and Robert Christopherson; one grandchild; and son-in-law Dale Brekke.
