Funeral Service for Carol Ann Hosmer, 75, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Saturday December 26, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grace Lutheran Church, Sisseton, SD with Pastor Patrick Jenkins officiating. Organist will be Steve Eneboe and special music by Kari and Annabelle Hosmer. Pallbearers will be Grant Hosmer, Greg Hosmer, Christopher Todd Hosmer, Adam Groos, Harry Moshier, and Kerry Cameron. Honorary Pallbearers, we would like to honor all of the people that were part of Verlin and Carol Ann's life over the years. You mean so much to us and we are honored to call you friends. There will be visitation at the Cahill Funeral Chapel on Friday, December 25, 2020 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Artesian, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangements. Due to covid 19 there will be a limit of 125 people at Grace Lutheran Church. A mask will be required. The Funeral Service will be live streamed on Grace Lutheran Church

Carol Ann was born on February 22, 1945 in Chamberlain, SD to Carrol and Elva (Wolcott) Eleeson. Carol Ann attended elementary country school near Ft. Thompson, SD and High School at Pierre Riggs High in Pierre, SD. She earned her undergraduate and her double master's in Education and Special Education (Remedial Reading) while attending Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. She also earned multiple certificates in photography arts following her master's degree. Carol Ann married Verlin Hosmer on December 22, 1965 at Pierre, SD. Carol Ann was an educator that started her career in Ft. Thompson, SD teaching elementary students. She then taught elementary in Red Scaffold and Eagle Butte before moving to Florida on the Big Cypress Indian Reservation at the Ahfachkee Day School where she taught special education. Her husband Verlin worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the family moved to the Navajo Indian Reservation in Shiprock, NM where she again taught in the elementary school in town. She and her family finally moved to Sisseton, SD in the early 1980's where she taught for nearly a decade as a fifth-grade teacher at West Side Elementary. After her husband became Superintendent of Schools for the district, Carol Ann taught language arts for a year at the Community College. After leaving education, Carol Ann started a business and spent the next 15 years as a photographer and framer in Sisseton. She retired with her husband in 2004. Carol Ann attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church and Grace Lutheran Church. She served on the Coteau Des Prairies Hospital Board. Through her work in Photography and Framing, she was a member of multiple groups and organizations. Although she made a business out of photography for a time, that was her life-long passion. Carol Ann's husband, kids, and grandchildren were her whole world. Her strength was her relationship with the Lord and how she lived her life through Him, She loved animals, music, and people. Strangers to mom were just friends she hadn't met yet. She will be missed by so many, she touched many lives and they in-turn touched hers. Carol Ann passed away on December 22, 2020 surrounded by the caring staff at the Coteau Des Prairies Hospital.

Carol Ann is survived by her husband of fifty five years, Verlin of Sisseton, SD; four children, Christopher (Jenny) Hosmer of Volga, SD, Ree (Adam) Groos of Lake Crystal, MN, Grant Hosmer of Lino Lakes, MN., Kari (Ballata) Hosmer of Arden Hills, MN, and Gregory Hosmer of Glasgow, MO; one sister, Debbra (Calvin) Eich of Eagan, MN; six grandchildren; four sister-in-laws, Betty Thompson of Madison, SD, Shirley Heath of Sioux City IA, Sidney "Sid" Tompkins of Huron, SD and Ardith Scott of Sioux Falls, SD.

Carol Ann was preceded in death by her parents.
