Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, South Dakota with CRE Gerald Heminger, Jr. officiating. Urn Bearer will be Kristeena Romero. There will be visitation at the Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. to service time. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Candace Lynn Sims was born on April 22, 1975, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Lawrence and Julie (Mundy) Sims. She attended St. Louis Park High School and graduated in 1993. Candace had a fondness for owls, which would explain the extensive owl collection she had. She also loved her 3 cats, Miguel, Onix and Bella. Not only were they her emotional support cats, but she also considered them her babies. She was kind, witty, and had an exuberant personality. She loved to paint. Candace passed away at her home on March 5, 2025.

Candace is survived by her two children, Kristeena Romero of St. Michael, Minnesota and Brandon Borchardt of Eagan, Minnesota; one granddaughter, Juliette Wood of Maple Grove, Minnesota; two sisters Melissa Affeldt of Hanover, Minnesota and Carla Bramley  of Eagan, Minnesota.

Candace was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Sims; her maternal grandparents, Frank and Loretta (Starr) Mundy; and her paternal grandparents, Ernest and Donna (Rolf) Sims.
