Funeral Service for Bruce "Rocky" Trankle, 72, of Grayson, TX formerly of Sisseton, SD will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at. Kateri Tekakwitha Hall, Sisseton, SD with Pastor Vern Donnell officiating. Special music by Butch Felix and Jarrod Lee. Drum Group will be Grey Fox. Pallbearers will be Mike Jenson, Scott Dykstra, Eric Dykstra, Derek Kirk, John Lincoln, Dean Abraham Jr., Tom Abraham, Tom Flute, Willy Varns and Maurice (Ruffy) Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Perry, Pam, Mark and Tessa Dykstra, Kris Kohl, Kenny Abraham, Harvey Renville, Jr., Floyd Kirk Jr., Dusty Kirk, Ronald Heminger, Jacky White, Kenny Kirk, Benjamin Kasyoki and Ethan Schmid. Interment will be in the Sisseton Wahpeton Veteran Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. There will be an all night Wake Service on Thursday, March 11, 20212 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Hall. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Bruce "Rocky" Trankle was born Harold Glen Isaac on June 21, 1948 to Sophia Susan Issac in Sisseton, SD. He was adopted by the Trankle's and raised in Rapid City, SD area. He served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970 and served in Vietnam earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He traveled all across the United States and made his home in Sherman, Texas with his partner Debbie Singer. He would spend summers with his brother Dean and Connie Abraham in Sisseton, SD. Rocky will always be known for being a real horsemen, He took great pride in his animals. Rocky and his team roping partner Nick Cadott were fierce competitors.

Rocky competed against many great local ropers and traveled across the country to competitions and to watch rodeos. He would watch and give tips to friends working on their roping skills, whether it was header or heeler or barrel racing. Known for being able to spot what a horse did wrong and offer words of wisdom, pointers or criticism to help you do better. He'd spend the hot summer evenings visiting his friends in the backyard or out to Perry Dykstra's or Nelson arena. On weekends he would head to Watertown to visit Chuck Schuchard and other friends in the area. You could go anywhere in the state and be asked if you knew Rocky. He always enjoyed running into old friends and meeting new people. He was liked and respected by everyone,. Whenever there was a rodeo around Sisseton, you could always find Rocky there visiting with his old friends and making new ones. The last time Rocky competed was in 2018 at Ryan Carlsons in Britton, SD on Newt and at Dan Andersons in Starbuck, MN on Roni. The last horse Rocky rode was Perry Dykstra's Biscuit in 2019. Rocky passed away on March 4, 2021 in Denison, Texas from complications of Covid-19. Rocky will be missed by his family, friends and everyone who had the chance to meet him. We celebrate that he will be reunited with his family, cowboy friends and friends who went before him.

Rocky is survived by his daughter, Sabrina (David) Mayfield of Florence, Alabama; son Shane Brown of Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren, Ryder, Andrew, Robert, Nicholas and Sabrina; special friend, Debbie Singer; brothers, Dean (Connie) Abraham of Sisseton SD; Dennis (Bonnie) Seely-Isaac of Rapid City, SD; sisters, Shirley Isaac of Lidgerwood, ND, Ramona (Harvey) Renville, Juanita Kirk and Carol Adams,

Rocky was preceded in death by his mother Sophia Susan Isaac and his sister Phyllis (George) Peters.
