The Memorial Service will be staged at Zion Community Church, Wilmot, SD on Friday, December 12, at 7:00 P.M.  There will be a Nightingale Tribute to Brenda during the service.

Brenda Sue Rennie, was born on July 11, 1964, to Marshall and LaVonne Sippy in Cleveland Township near Cornell, WI. She was the seventh of eleven children raised on the Sippy family dairy farm. Brenda is survived by her brothers, Henry, Kenny, Randy, Paul, Marshall Jr., and Charlie, and her sisters, Barb and Jenny. She also has many nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Thomas, and her sister, Joyce.

Brenda will be deeply missed by her husband, Bob, and their son, Matthew, of Wilmot.

Brenda's faith was the foundation of her life. Brenda would like to thank God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, the Trinity, for the best life that He gave her and for the strength to live it through His empowerment.

While in high school, Brenda accepted Christ as her personal Savior and Lord at a Lowell Lundstrom crusade in Wisconsin. Thank you Barb (Hanks) for taking Brenda to this great meeting in her life! Brenda, ever the enthusiastic one, rejoiced in her relationship with Christ, which totally reordered her life.

After high school, God led Brenda to the Alaska Bible Institute in Homer for three years of intensive study in the Word of God. She often spoke of these years as some of the best of her young life, which was a new beginning based on God's Word! It was there that she met her future husband, Bob Rennie, of Michigan. After completing their studies and their courtship, they were married at the Sippy family farm near Bloomer, WI.

Brenda and Bob began ministry together at the Seattle Seamen's Center under the discipleship of Chaplain Norris Stoa. Brenda thrived in this unique mission field, sharing the Gospel with foreign sailors from around the world as they arrived at the Port of Seattle. Many of these men had never heard the name of Christ, and Brenda joyfully embraced each opportunity to minister, teach, and share Christ's saving work, opening her heart to share the good news of salvation in the finished work of Christ on our behalf. She placed thousands of phone calls over the years, for sailors to their families. In this role she did a lot of counseling. Her sincerity and warmth quickly opened doors for conversations that many sailors had never experienced before. Many sailors responded by accepting Christ, beginning discipleship courses, and later even returning home to start neighborhood churches.

After a year and a half in Seattle, God opened the door to a similar ministry in Aberdeen, WA. Brenda and Bob served there for 26 years, faithfully sowing Gospel seeds among the nations. It was here that the Rennies also began fostering children in their home. During this time the Lord brought Matthew their way. He was adopted as a Rennie at age 10. He chose to accept the family name on his own.

In 2024, the Rennies moved from Cosmopolis, WA, to Wilmot. Even in quieter seasons of life, Brenda continued to share her faith with gentleness and conviction wherever she went whether at the care center as a nurse or coaching girls volley ball.

Along side her ministry, Brenda also served as a registered nurse. She worked in many areas but especially loved obstetrics. Many lives were touched by her compassion, warmth, and love for her Savior. Wherever she went, women and children often ran to her and embraced her in a fond hello.

Now the pain of death will soon be forgotten as she runs to embrace her Wonderful Savior Jesus, who guided her faithfully each step of the way.

Brenda's heartfelt message to all would be, "If you have not yet called on Christ to save you from sin, now is the acceptable time. Call on Christ while it is still called today. Christ loves you very much and has a wonderful plan for your life. Repent from selfish desires. Live a life well spent for Christ's Kingdom. Use His Holy Word as your personal guide for each aspect of your life, trusting wholly in Christ's finished work on the cross in your place, for your sin. 'For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.' (Romans 6:23)."
