Funeral Service for Bonnie Luella Schuppan, 83 of Sisseton, SD will be held at Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. The Rev. William Schurba will be officiating. Organist will be Mona Greseth and soloist will be Misty Marotte. Interment will be in the Piedmont Cemetery, Piedmont, SD at a later date. Honorary Pallbearer's will be Bonnie's Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Granddaughter. There will be visitation at the Cahill Funeral Chapel on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to service time. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.
Bonnie Luella Aadland was born on August 28, 1931 near Claire City, SD to Alfred and Amanda (Stave) Aadland. She attended school at Claire City through the 8th grade. Bonnie was united in marriage to Clinton Birdsall in September 1948.
They made their home in Sisseton where Bonnie worked at various jobs. Four children were born to this marriage, Judy, Rick, Randy and Penny. In 1971 she moved to Watertown where she attended Watertown Business University. In 1972 she moved to Rapid City, SD where she worked at Landstrom Black Hills Gold. Bonnie was united in marriage to Carl Schuppan on June 23, 1973. They lived in Piedmont, SD. Following the death of her husband, Carl in 2003, she moved to Sisseton. She entered the Tekakwitha Living Center in February 12, 2013. Bonnie enjoyed crocheting, embroiding, crossword puzzles, and loved playing bingo at the nursing home. She loved watching the Judge Judy Show, and the Andy Griffith Show. Bonnie passed away on February 2, 2015 at the Tekakwitha Living Center, Sisseton, SD.
Bonnie is survived by three children, Judy (Ron) Richards of Sisseton, SD, Randy Birdsall of New Effington, SD and Rick (Deb) Birdsall of Watson, MN; one sister, Dianne German of Jacksonville, FL; one brother Clarence Aadland of Bell Fourche, SD; eleven grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; and a son-in-law Daryl Bucklin of Watertown.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Clinton
Birdsall and Carl Schuppan; one daughter, Penny Bucklin; two brothers, Ervin Aadland and Donald Aadland.
