Graveside Service will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Calvary Cemetery, Browns Valley, MN with lunch to follow at the American Legion.

Beverly Ann (Reed) Raw was born in Traverse County on Saturday, January 30, 1932; second born to Earnest & Annie (Leavitt) Reed. Bev was a loving sibling to six sisters; Mary, Helen, Dorothy, Donna, Jeannie & Kathy and two brothers, Sonny (Ernest) & David.

Bev graduated salutatorian from Browns Valley High School in 1950. She married Jack Raw in Texas in 1951 while he was in the army returning to Browns Valley in 1953 where they raised six boys David, Robert, Daniel, William, Michael & Bradley.

In addition to raising her family, Bev worked at Traverse Café taking ownership in the 70s for the next 10 years. In 1990 she and daughter-in-law Jan opened up BJ's Family restaurant, once again serving home cooked meals and wonderful pastries. Bev was an amazing cook and long after retiring from her own restaurant work, she enjoyed hosting holidays making everyone's favorite pies and spoiling her grandchildren.

Bev was an avid collector of many things and was extremely gifted, with a special talent for painting and crocheting; she loved to work in all kinds of crafts. Each of her children and grandchildren received a cherished afghan. Bev always had the coffee on and enjoyed visiting with family & friends.

Bev is survived by her sisters Donna (Jack) Lamers, Jeannie Hills and Kathy Reed, sisters-in-law Faye Nelson, Karen Reed and brothers-in-law Donald (Dorice) Raw and Francis Sykora; her children David (Eileen) Raw, Robert Raw, Janet (Terry) Biewer, Michael (Carol) Raw and Brad (Nancy) Raw; and grandchildren Josh (Michelle) Raw, Jaclyn (Zak) Allen, Shane (Samantha) Raw, Jodi (Jason) and Courtney (Justin) Raw, Andy (Krystina) Raw and Elizabeth (James) Letich and great-grandchildren Skylar & Chloe, Jack & Iris, Willy, Kael, & Peyton, Harvey & Cohen.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Velroy Raw, sons, Daniel and William; and siblings Mary Williams, Dorothy Sykora, David Reed, Sonny Reed and Helen Raw.
