Beverly Joan Solberg was born on February 14, 1941 in rural Sisseton, SD to Walter and Lucille (Solin) Solberg. She grew up on a farm with her parents and siblings. She graduated from Sisseton High School in 1959. She married Gary Dickinson of Veblen, SD on June 13, 1959. They moved to Minot, ND, where they welcomed their first son, Shawn. Their second son, Shane, was born 6 years later.

From Sisseton to Beach to Williston to Dickinson, Bev always made time for her bingo, baking and antiquing. She was well known for her tasty chocolate chip cookies and sloppy joes. Taste of Home was one of her favorites, to test out new recipes and find exceptional ones to share. She held a wide range of jobs, including a medical collection agency, which she owned alongside her husband, Gary. She also enjoyed her time at the local grocery produce department, roller skating rink and TMI Cabinet Making. Upon retirement, Bev and Gary moved back to Sisseton and worked part-time at the local nursing home where her mother Lucille resided. She enjoyed walking to work and never had a driver's license.

Nevertheless, her passion remained with her family. Gatherings were always topped off with family dice games around the kitchen table. She had a special relationship with her first grandson, Jacob, and as her family grew, her unconditional love for her grandkids resulted in many memories of messy baking and fun activities. She also had a great love of pets throughout her life, especially her beloved cats, Pita and Gizmo.

She suffered a stroke in 2012 and is spending her final days as a resident of Essentia Health-Grace Home in Graceville, MN.

Sharing her life is her husband, Gary Dickinson of Wheaton, MN; two sons, Shawn (Renee) Dickinson of Remer, MN and Shane (Jennifer) Dickinson of Oakdale, MN; ten grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth and David Solberg of Sisseton, SD and one sister, Sandra Koch of Milbank, SD.

Her parents, Walter and Lucille Solberg and one brother Keith Solberg have passed on.
